Did Ronald Reagan slash down the size of the federal government?

Just wondering…

(i’m still puzzled why so many people admire him). After all, few people admire Bush nowadays - and one of the reasons was precisely because he only increased the size of it (which irks a lot of his former supporters)

==

And just wondering - what other presidents changed the size or role of the american government so drastically? I know FDR and LBJ both increased it tremendously - the effects of their increases are still felt today

apparently not really

(I know those are biased, but biased sources usually contain truths - they just select a certain sample of the evidence)

tax cuts only made the deficit larger.

there was a growth in deregulation, sure, but that doesn’t say anything about doing anything about the inefficiency of massive government

meh

No, he did not slash the size of the fed. He was just one in a long line of Republicans who lied to their constituents to get the votes and then decided it was in his best interest to do what’s worse for the country.

I didn’t realize his legacy was related to taxes. I thought it related more to the end of the Soviet Union.
