Did you do better than you thought or worse than you thought?

Much better with a 2300. But not compared to my friend who got a friggin 2380 expecting a 2200.

60 points worse than i wanted
2240

CR (790) and W (800) were pretty much expected (thought CR might be a bit lower, thanks CB for nice curve!), M (720) was 40-50 points lower than expected.

Lol, I try to tell myself that, then I go over to the HYPSM boards and see how many people with insane scores got rejected :p

1470/1600
2250/2400

790 math
780 WR
680 CR (What happened here??? Oh well super-score! :D:D:D)

quick question… what exactly is a “modest” increase in SAT scores? is getting a 2040 the first time and then a 2200 reasonable, now that i know the ins and outs of the test?

I got just a bit lower than expected.
I was expected around a 2260-2280, but got a 2220

Scores:
Math - 800 (expected this)
CR - 700 (ehh i thought i’d get maybe 720 but oh well)
Writing - 720 (10 essay which i predicted but i thought i would’ve had around a 750)

I can’t say i’m very disappointed but i’m not ecstatic with these scores either. I increased by 120 pts since my november SAT so I guess that’s pretty good.

bamboozle:

same here haha

i’ll say it again… is a 200 point increase reasonable from the first taking to the second taking (now that i know the ins and outs of the test)?

A 200 point increase is not uncommon if you study hard.

Way worse! I didn’t feel extremely confident but I didn’t come out thinking I did poorly. This was my first time taking the SAT and I got a 1840 :(. I went in practically cold, but I got a 193 on my PSAT in October so I thought I would get at least a 1930 and shot to try to pass 2000. I’m frazzled, my friend got a 197 on the PSAT but scored a 2170 on the SAT. I’m just trying to figure-out how a 4 point difference in our scores on the PSAT translated to over a 300 point difference on the SAT.

Is it possible that I just had an off day? I usually do MUCH better than my score shows. If I study religiously for the next 2 months could I hit 2100 or higher on the June SAT or is that unrealistic? I felt pretty comfortable on the ACT Saturday, I just hope it will prove more to colleges than my March SAT did.

^off days are completely possible. Off sections are even more possible. take my CR score for example.

A 200 point increase from one test to the next is not impossible. I increased 150 points from one test to the next and I literally did no preparation at all the second time.

My friend thought he was going to get like a 2000(199PSAT).

Turns out he got a 1630.=/

Did much better than expected. Thought this Mar SAT was easier than others.

200 increase is def possible…
i went up 270 points with little - no studying in between the january and march sats

writing: 800
math: 790
cr: 800

2390- freaking insane, and wayyyyyyy over what i expected. i never broke 2220 on a practice test. I was hoping for 2200.

I did worse than expected.

I got a 750r - I expected an 800, I usually beast at reading, a 790m - I expected around this, I felt really good about the test even though I usually royally screw up everything on practice tests, and a 780w - expected around this. Still though, I’m incredibly happy with my score, even if it’s not the 2400 I halfway convinced myself I had gotten… haha.

I know i’m not ridiculously smart like some of the people on here. I’m telling you, if I got a 2250 I would not be complaining.

CR: 660
Math: 710 (as good as I’m going to get probably)
Writing: 690 (ugh, I should be getting an 800 by getting all the MC right. writing MC is so easy!)

I thought the CR was hard this time and not surprisingly, my score went down from a 710.

I did worse than i thought overall, expected better in writing, but out of 1600 (V+M) i’m really happy

expected around this - 740 M 800 R 740 W

Much worse, I had no idea what happened. I really thought I would get 750+ on Writing and ended up getting a 680. I thought I had bombed on the math section (like low 600s) and ended up getting a 710.

I did much better than I thought  Although I got a disappointing score in CR, I was happy cuz I didn’t study at all–I did one practice test (not even the whole thing) the day before the test, which is crazy, but I some how got high scores in math and writing!!! I just wish I could get over 700 in CR by October.
