The title says it all. What school did you end up to and was it your dream school? Once you got to your dream school, did your feelings change about the school? Did you end up transferring from your dream school or to it? Or did your school you picked ended up being your dream school?

Yes I ended at one of my two dream schools. I’ve been dreaming about going to Whitman or Clemson since 10th grade and here I am 2 months from starting off my college career as a tiger!

Good Luck with college. My dream schools use to be NYU and UCLA. UCLA got off the list when I first started looking at schools and they had no journalism program. NYU is still on it, but isn’t my dream school anymore. I really don’t have one, but I’m planning on going to Simon’s Rock anyways/

NO :(

I’m not going to Miami. I got in though :D

I’m sorry to hear that, but UGA is a good school.

No – my dream school was Yale (for as long as I can remember…elementary school). I probably won’t transfer because it just wouldn’t be the same with the residential college system being the way it is.

I’m sorry. It doesn’t look like much people get their dream school!

I’m at mine – Princeton. Harvard and Princeton alternated being my dream schools, but I think Harvard was just there because of the people at my school (long story…). Basically, Princeton was actually my dream school.

If I was at an Ivy, I would be in a dream.

strange as it may seem, my dream school would definitely be UNC or UVA. I love my college sports and can’t imagine going to a school without Division I-A football or basketball! (and I love the ACC!)

I like the smaller liberal arts schools too. Hampshire College, Ithaca College, Sarah Lawrence, Bennington, Bard, Reed, Flagler, Swarthmore, etc.

I didn’t particularly have a ‘dream school,’ but I am attending a wonderful liberal arts college. I love Haverford :)

I think it is better not to have a dream school. What happens if you do not get into your dream school? You’d be crushed like a rock! :(

Nope

Really wanted brown.

Whatever

Yep! I’m 2 months out from attending my number 1 school, the liberal arts college: Grinnell College!

I didn’t really have a ‘dream’ school. I don’t really agree with the idea of a ‘dream’ school. I think people like to center in on a school b.c it makes them feel like it’s less hectic of a college search to focus into one school than many. I got into my top school after one year as a transfer. But I only transferred b.c I didn’t get into any of the schools I liked and was rejected from my safety as I didn’t take on of the courses for entry. I had to scramble last minute to a super safety school. Had I got into any of my orginal choices I wouldn’t have tried transferring.

Also I don’t think having a ‘dream’ school is good. While having something to strive for is good, having a do or die attitude towards one school isn’t. I’ve seen many people feel destroyed b.c they didn’t get into that ‘dream’ school they yerned for, even if they got into another comparable school. Then they don’t give their accepted schools the same chance, and won’t be happy their no matter where they go.

Well Tufts is a great school too, lol.

stanford was my number 1. nada.
duke was number 2. yay :D

MIT was my dream school until I developed a social life in HS haha. Then it was Cornell, and didn’t get in… :(

But I got into Syracuse which was my next choice! Woooo.

I don’t think having a dream school is that bad. I had one, and I was deferred EA, which almost felt like a rejection. But I eventually came to love other schools, and though I wouldn’t pick them as my number one choice, I would still be extremely happy at them. Generally, people end up loving where they’ve been admitted and enroll, even if they had dream school(s) they didn’t get into. I ended up with a few dream schools (to which I was admitted), although they weren’t my dream schools to begin.
