OOS shouldn’t be TOO difficult! Just slightly more challenging than average california residents. I got into UCSB with a 3.5 unweighted, 1870 SAT I…

I don’t think that a 3.2 uweighted student with 1800 SAT CAN be rejected from UCR…

I got rejected but i got an email from UCR about applying (for students who have not applied there) because they have open slots. i have a 3.0 gpa and an 1900 sat score. and good community service extra cirricular activities! plus i go to one of the most compettive highschools in northern california. should i appeal? if so what on earth should i write about and do i have a chance of getting in?

aks89. I am in the same situation as you. I have a 3.2 gpa and 1990 sat, lots of community service, sports, marching band and eagle scout, also from excellent HS.

I think the invitation to apply was just a cruel oversight on their part.

“if so what on earth should i write about and do i have a chance of getting in?”

phones exist for a reason, but u have to have a case to prove. were they APs that lowered your grades. where did the people with higher GPAs go to college from your HS; thats usually a good indicator of how difficult the curriculum is.

Well, I was finally accepted TODAY, but I’m guessing that’s because my application got lost on one of the admissions desks. It was getting a little embarrassing, so I emailed them yesterday and got an “oops” reply back that they were deluged at the end of Jan. with emails and mine (with additional info. they wanted) kind of got lost.

There’s a reception in L.A. this Sat., so I’m glad I made the effort and got up the nerve to ask what was going on!
