Did you get an unsolicited seed package?

One article speculated that they were trying to gain on sell points pretending that they have many transactions.

That is what I would guess. I know that a lot of strange small things get shipped that way.

Well, it is global. Other countries are getting them, too.

HaHa! Plenty of those ‘homegrown’ !

I read that if you do receive one of these packages, you should, among other recommendations, check your personal info. has not been compromised

Probably a good idea to do this ever so often anyways, but yes, that would be a good idea if you get an unsolicited delivery of any goods.

How do you check it?

If you have AAA or (many) major credit card, you can get free or low cost monthly credit reports. Otherwise, I think you can sign into Experian or another major reporting bureau, or Credit Secure, and get a free annual report, otherwise, there is a low monthly cost to have credit alerts placed o your account.

Several years ago, we took the step to place a freeze on our credit accounts (I think it’d a freeze?). If we need to apply for credit, we may have to jump through an extra hoop, but until then, the credit is safe.

Disturbing to think I could have put them in my compost ( next to my neighbors lovely 10 acre field). I did not get them but think it’s highly unlikely a company would do this for the ratings. Sounds much more nefarious. US should make a BIG deal out of this. Not a big fan of Amazon in any case. Less and less.

I place a freeze. To get a report, I probably have to unfreeze.

You can look at your own credit report through the credit reporting company or certain proxy services even though there is a freeze on it.
