Do schools for instance Exeter, Andover, Groton, Hotchkiss, Deerfield, SPS, Emma, and Lawrenceville send packages internationally? 'i.e. In the south Asian side like Bangladesh’
How can we track it?
When will they start creating label?
I know these questions are pretty weird in these time where still 16 days left, but would be helpful if someone answers.
The results will be the results and you’ll know for sure on M10. All Fedex/UPS/USPS stuff wont impact that, and no one knows when or if which school sends what to which candidate.
There are many people every year who are admitted - in the US, no less - who were monitoring packages and did not have notice.
Packages may not be sent to international admits for reasons as simple as the complexity of clearing customs. It is not unusual, though, for them to send a package to a student who enrolls.
So as everyone is telling you, sit tight. You’ll get your decisions on M10. And fwiw, every year, there are a couple of posts about how as stressful and uncertain as the pre-M10 period is, the period post-decision can feel like a letdown, even as you’re heading off to your first choice school. The anticipation, the community you wait with --you may miss it. So for now, just enjoy the dream!
And then there’s the “Where do I go?” if you’re lucky enough to have choices. Perceptions of the “Dream School” change as things come more into focus. The school that was third on my kid’s original list is the one she is at now.
The future you “cant wait for” quicky becomes the past before you know it. Relax and focus on what you’re doing now. And your friends, who you may be leaving soon.
My advice – stop focusing on M10 decisions until it actually is M10. No amount of attention and worry will change any admission decision. For the time being focus on doing your best in school and keep busy enjoying your family, friends, and activities.
Please come back and let us know how things turn out.
I agree with everyone else’s advice not to engage in this thinking. But, I admit that I did not heed that advice last year. I will also share that we saw our first shipping label appear on March 5. But, we are in the U.S. and did not receive packages from any of those schools. Good luck!
I’m just counting down the days, and I don’t even know how to set up all of these tracking measurements, so I’m just doing nothing about it. You’ll just get even more stressed if no packages appear in the tracking place–even if you are going to be accepted–so I suggest trying to ignore it until M10. One of the people I know who got accepted into like 8 schools last year didn’t get a single package tracked until M10.
I heard a rumour that in the days of old before the magma cooled that while schools timed their packages (and their rejection and waitlist letters) to arrive on a specific date, they were at the mercy of the United States Postal Service. And not only was there no way to track the package, there was no way to log in to see the decisions because (Gasp) there was no internet in homes/schools/businesses. Somehow the earth continued to rotate on its axis
I generally agree with everyone who advises waiting until M10, but I’ve never taken my advise. Last year our first notice came on M6. It feels great, but even with the notice, you still aren’t 100% sure until you see the decision. Yes, you are 99.9% sure, but it doesn’t take away all the anticipation. Also, think about whether you want to read the M10 Freakout thread when everyone is getting notices. It might make waiting even harder!
Some schools send packages, but many don’t. I don’t know about international shipping. But often the packages come after your decision, so stressing too much won’t do anything. I know that doesn’t scratch the itch, but its out of our control now.
Thanks all of you for your great suggestion. But you know it is the time when any applicant can’t stay calm although they want to.
Now I just want to know, how will Bangladeshi students be able to track the packages if something is coming towards them by the bless of the Almighty?
No school is sending via Bluedart. And international applicants should rely less on the portal astrology of tracking than domestic. M10 is only a week away.
