So, Tufts is my first choice school (well, okay, first-realistic-acceptance-choice, but it’s a toughy), and I was wondering what kind of impact it made that, though I did not apply EA to Tufts, I didn’t apply to EA anywhere. I mean, it shows that I didn’t know 2/3 months ago that Tufts was my first choice (though it was, I just didn’t want to do 4 essays until I had to), but it also shows that I didn’t pick another school instead. Does not having applied EA anywhere else help me a little in the RD pool?

(Obviously, it would have been better to apply EA to show interest, but you can’t go back in time.)

Also: would sending a “I love you more than all my other schools (also, I totally forgot these ECs)” letter help, at this point in the process?

how does Tufts know that you didn’t apply anywhere else EA???

And regardless, you should definitely send an email/letter to your admissions counselor saying Tufts is your first choice, and an updated application…anything that can give you an edge and show that you’re really committed!

Yeah, I was just thinking that about the EA thing.

This question is more for Dan than anyone else, but: is snail mail or email preferred? I would sent an email weeks ago if I knew there was no preference, but snail mail is so annoying I can’t even draft a letter.

Just make sure that in your note you don’t say that you wish you’d applied EA, because Tufts has ED, not EA. And I can’t speak for Dan, but I’m sure that email is fine.
