Didn't Cite!!

With SCEA results coming out soon, I am rapidly developing into a nervous wreck. The main source of agita is the fact that I included two tidbits about economic solutions to global warming (my topic) in my essay WITHOUT CITING THE SCHOLARLY PAPERS THEY CAME FROM!

Do I have cause to be worried? Be honest.

i don’t think yale wanted you to cite sources in your essays, so no, you should be fine.

how did you relate global warming to yourself?

I don’t want anybody stealing my idea, so I’ll keep it brief.

I wrote it as a newspaper article (set in the future) about how I became an environmental economist and saved the world from global warming (the direct “purpose” of the article is because I am receiving the Medal of Freedom).

Kinda one of those topics that only works if it’s a question like Yale’s, which is basically “write whatever you want”.

…that is the best essay topic I have heard yet. XD

I thought it was really unique until I saw this.

Anyways, should I have cited (also for the essays on the other apps I’ll be sending in this month…should I cite?) One opinion is encouraging, but I’m still unsure…

Newspaper articles do not generally have formal citations. Don’t worry about it.

I definitely don’t think it’s a big deal. You’ll be fine. :)

lol interesting topic dude  and you’ll be fine. if it really bothers you, email them an apology and the appropriate citations or something, but I don’t think it’s necessary.
