Btw, I stopped doing lateral arm raises, and I notice that I feel better after my strength workouts now. Yes, I get sore but something about that exercise, I don’t know. A different kind of sore. Yeah, better without it.

I think Jane lives at Prairie Life (our gym)! Awesome set-up!

I don’t think we’re going to see iDad or BCE in man-pris anytime soon.

3.2 miles recovery low hr run this morning then drove 45 minutes to daughter’s church and watch her perform her first baptism and first Easter service. Neat! My low heart rate pace is really within my McMillan training pace range for easy and recovery (and long) runs, so that’s pretty good.

How cool you got to be there for that, MOWC!

Went for 1.25 miles outside with a Nike DriFit, a thin tech long-sleeve top, tights under track pants. It was very windy out and I think that I would have been better off with something slightly heavier up top but I don’t think that I have anything long-sleeve that’s slightly heavier. Maybe a long-sleeve shirt under a thin long-sleeve shirt would have worked better. It felt nice but the sun wasn’t as strong as it could have been. At any rate, a chilly start to the outdoor season for me.

I moved to an old desktop at home as I gave my daughter my new one and I have to set up all of the Garmin software again.

65 degrees and sunny! We are off to the Beer Trail, and I’m wearing my Sunday’s best (cat leggings, you bet! :)). My friend ran on he trail yesterday and said that it was a zoo; luckily, so far, the trail looks fairly deserted. Not too many runners willing to pound asphalt on Easter. :)

MOfWC - that is so cool!

Yay, Sabaray! That’s excellent!

Maybe if Marmot starts making them in some unobtainium tech fabric… :)

Deborah:

I stopped the lateral raises very early on. Even with tiny weights, they made me sore in a way that just didn’t seem like a good idea. I haven’t even tried them in a couple of years.

My condolences! Garmin software is not the most robust stuff in the world. It usually takes some eye of the newt and sprinkling of holy water to get it to work in the first place and it does not like to be disturbed! My Garmin watch communicates with my computer through a thumb-drive receiver in a USB port. I can’t even move it to a different USB port or it stops working!

I had to install the antenna software, USB drivers and a Firefox plugin and then had to enter my credentials a few times. Everything is working again. It’s a bit of a headache setting up Garmin stuff in general - I went through thus with my Nuvi a while ago. At least you only have to do it once per computer.

How lovely to see your daughter like that on Easter, MoWC.

Saba, I am happy for your sizing findings. Good luck on the C25K run today. I blame Deb T for getting me started on that (and thank her and the rest of you for your encouragement too!).

3 mile walk with H on a beautiful Sunday morning. And I gave the car a wash. Lots of squats.

I am actually liking C25K. Today was rainy and wet; have yet to feel taxed while running so should probably push myself a bit more. I don’t want to overdo it. I need to find new running shoes and the search is proving challenging. Today’s run/walk was 2.75m. Walked earlier with sabadog and had a frenzy of housekeeping.

MOWC, how great to spend Easter Sunday that way!

For hiking boots and running shoes, Once I’ve narrowed it down to a specific model, I’ve been known to order two sizes from Zappos or LLBean and returning the one that doesn’t fit as well. I did that with the Bean hiking boots and wore both sizes around the house (carpet) for a couple of days. Glad I did because the one that felt the best at first was too tight after half an hour. That was really a close decision as both sizes fit.

With the latest Brooks running shoe purchase, i ordered a 10EE and a 9.5EEEE. I can wear either size, but the 10EE is a little too long to get the width I need across the ball of my foot and not pinch my toes (which makes me go numb). In theory, you can figure that out in the store, but it’s so much better to put the shoe on for more than a quick minute, try it with different socks, etc.

Well, I figure that, if I’m going to eat a 16 ounce rib eye for Easter dinner, I better work up an appetite. So, so the basement for a quick 24 minute [Rachel Cosgrove circuit](<a href=“Super Advanced Circuit | Sleek/Strong With Rachel Cosgrove - YouTube”>Super Advanced Circuit | Sleek/Strong With Rachel Cosgrove - YouTube).

I don’t really care for the last exercise in the circuit, so I substitutes farmers carries with two DBs, ten steps down the agility ladder, turn, and ten steps back. Sounds easy, but carrying two 50lb DBs down an agility ladder is a pretty good little exercise! Sheesh, for an ol’ (formerly) fat guy, just picking up two 50lb DBs is a pretty good little exercise!

Umm… yeah!

Sabaray, congrats on the steady progress and successful unsuccessful closet raid. If you know what size, brand, and style you fit, sometimes Running Warehouse has great deals on liquidation shoes. I’ve ordered from them. Sometimes you can find a coupon, too.

I can’t wear Nike or Asics. Tomorrow will find me at the running store S just told me about at dinner. Hopefully that will prove to be successful. I’ve been wearing a 9.5 but think I need a 10 at this point; I also have a very wide foot. Thanks for the link, Deborah; I will keep my eyes on that site for when I am purchasing pair number 2 to alternate with.

I am a big Zappos fan, iDad, but first I have to find a brand that’s going to work. I’ve been wearing New Balance because of the width issues (and they were on sale) but I’d like my feet to feel good when I’m running in particular.

I’ve been going through shoes quickly and I don’t have any more running shoes (or shoes that I use for running). Down to one spare pair of tennis shoes too. I think that I’m going to pay a visit to the New Balance Factory Outlet in Boston this week to see if I can score a few pairs in the bargain bin in my size. I’d get five or six pairs if I find the right things (tennis, running or cross-trainers) as my son wears the same size. I usually like to keep about five pairs in the closet.

Sabaray, congrats! Have you tried varying sock styles? I discovered hat my feet really like the “hobbit socks” - the kind with “fingers”, and most shoes fit better with these socks.

My run was a semi-success. 6 miles, 8:15 pace. I overdressed for the weather (should not have worn shorts over my cat tights!) and did not bring my water bottle. I will be much smarter next time!

I’d like to have that kind of semi-success!
