Ha, can’t climb to nowhere forever! I like having a goal and mine is to run in our local 4 miler on August 24th. That’s just a few weeks before my birthday when I’ll be…50. I feel like it’s possible.

I imagine you’ll not only run it, but achieve a good time as well!

5 miles today. Did a bit of speedwork too. It was an awful day work- and schedule-wise so I didn’t run until the evening. I prefer early afternoon, then late morning and lastly evening. It would have been a good day to run outside.

iDad, I just may break down and get a pair of running shorts myself. I never wear shorts, but I’m finding it gets warm on the treadmill for the longer runs. Outside there’s usually a breeze, and it’s rarely hot here. I’m satisfied with my natural very light shade and plan on sticking with it, despite growing up in an area where it’s a competition for who has the deepest tan. ;)

Run-walk-stop (to photograph a flower) for 3.65 miles. Yes, I was probably that kid who sat and looked at the daisies in the outfield while playing softball game  Rode the bike. Went to the gym with S2; elliptical hill program for 15 minutes and two sets around the weight circuit–excluding a few of the leg exercises.

Saba, you are doing so well with the C25K! You will fly through the race. Nice miles for you, too, BCE and Deborah.

Mushroom walnut burgers, spinach salad, sweet potato fries for dinner.

Great runs by everyone today. Really impressed by blankmind’s 12 x400s. IMHO 400 intervals are the most painful running workouts. The last 200 meters plays with the mind , body and soul.

Another night helping with hs track meet. Ran 2 miles before and probably another 2 miles running around the meet. Love track and field.

In the pole vault— girls were superior to boys by a huge margin.

I got a funny story to tell here.

Went to the hotel (Shanghai) gym yesterday early in the morning. There were some western guys running there already and I got on one of the treadmill and turned on the CNN to catch up the news. It was just like the running in the gym back home.

W/o much thinking, I set the speed to 6 and start running. Wow, I felt really good - for the first time running at this speed is so easy. Then I raise the incline to 1, and again to 2. Still barely break a sweat. I started to wonder, what did I eat last night gave me so much energy. This would make running the 1/2 much easier.

Before long, I realized the reason - I am on the metric system and it is 6 kilometer per hour not the 6 mile per hour speed.

None the less, running in the morning seems to be easier than doing it late in the day. I did complete 4 miles that morning at 1.5% incline and 6.2 MPH speed.

Nice to see you post, Dad II, and glad to hear you’re able to get in some exercise while in Shanghai.

1 1/2 hour walk on the flat. Beautiful sunshiney day

I had pork chops, pan fried in heart healthy lard. Brocolli sauteed with heart healthy butter/wine sauce!

No outside exercise…listening to the sleet coming down and waiting for the 6 to 8 inches of snow due tomorrow. :(

nminn:

That’s cruel and unusual punishment…

…exactly

Wonder if we will have a spring!

To heck with it, I’m pulling out the sandals anyway. A person cannot do this much November weather and remain sound
NM, at the moment here its all still rain. My favorite park is almost entirely under water, my neighbors on the river side of the road have said river creeping hundreds of yards towards their homes, and I m about ready to build an ark! Hopefully, our French drains are working under the deluge coming down the hill. I suppose its a good thing that Thursday – due to 7 am meeting, is my one no-hill morning ;)

Sorry about the bad weather. We are due for some bad rain storms tonight into tomorrow and then some cool mornings for the weekend. This morning it was 68 and windy, but nice. SHORTS!!!

5 pound party day! Total of 30 pounds gone! Woo-hoo!

Outstanding stuff! I watch your reports and the loss is a natural result.

I love when I can run outside in shorts. :)

Waving my party streamer for Sabaray and the 5 pound party!!!

Yay, sabaray!

Nice work, svelte and speedy Sabaray. :)
