~ 3 1/3 mi park run. Kayaks, cyclists, RC sailboats, geese, company picnic, BBQ, me in my local team tee.

14.3 back in the tough park. It is just SO hard. I went really slowly, partly because I’m slow and partly because I wanted to maximize the time I spent running today. I made it up all the hills without walking except I stopped to rest a few times on the ones after 10 miles. I don’t know how I run the Monkey Marathon which is TWO loops. I didn’t put my music on until 9 miles. Carried water and had one Huma gel at 9 miles. It rained a lot overnight and stopped just in time for me to run. Got a white chocolate pumpkin latte at Dunkin afterwards (well, and a pumpkin donut).

Really good interview with WildChild’s girlfriend on her age group world championship 70.3. I’m mentioned! (i.e. “boyfriend’s parents”) It gives you a good feeling for how much work goes into this stuff. Picture of WildChild and their coach also included!

Wow!!! I am not worthy!!

Ok … Did 1 hour Pilates and 1 hour strength, plus took dog on a walk. Was going to do a 20 mi bike ride with H and then yoga but H has a patient in labor and can’t. Debating whether I should run, walk w purpose or just stroll around the local downtown til yoga begins …

Nice story, MOWC!

10.3 miles. I have met my 10 mile goal for September. I think I may be done with new distances. Definitely feeling it in my legs.

Sometimes kids run up our mountain in Vermont in bare feet! I don’t know how they do it. It’s a pretty strenuous hike 2000 feet of elevation, about 5 miles round trip, lots of rock scrambles, a couple of ladders.

I eat fast food more than I should, but I typically take it off the bun. Or at Wendy’s I’ll get the 4 spicey nuggets for a buck, they just have a very thin coating of bread crumbs, unlike McD’s nuggets which are dipped in batter.

MomWC, great story and adorable gal! You must be delighted :)

Mch and I were a wee bit naughty dietetically last night and I’m feeling reluctant to enter the brutal truth into my calorie counter. Fortunately, walking around all night at ArtPrize seems to have kept my actual weight in line.

This would be why I continue to chase my “maintenance” weight instead of losing that extra ten I keep saying I want to lose by the end of the year. My body seems to be perfectly content to rest on its laurels at chubby petite as opposed to fat petite instead of gunning for unqualified “petite”. Said body and I will have to contemplate our approach. :)

Great lifting day yesterday. Hope for a solid run today.

mowc:

Nice run in the park and great interview with the girlfriend-in-law…

kmcmom:

Yeah, that 7 year old is a pretty amazing hiker. I don’t usually see kids that young on the trails. Usually young teens with families or babies in carriers. it really puts into perspective how much physical fitness we lose as we age. Of course we make up for it being more wiley… right?

I don’t have the down down yet either. I need to work on a crab walk. I don’t find that comfortable. When I’m that stuck, I usually face the rock slab on hands and feet and back down. Fortunately, all the tough bits the other day had trees, so it was possible to always keep a firm grip on a branch.

MofWC, your son’s girlfriend is a great young lady! Thank you for sharing the interview. She sounds like a keeper :)

I’m finally back home… Have a ton of work to do and a fresh pile of emails to sort through, but I’m determined to to for a run later today.

MOWC- very impressive young lady.

Trying to detox today after two days of bday- managed to keep the last two days to breakfast, one main meal and then dessert - so definitely indulged but not so much in quantity. After garlic Parmesan wings, cheesecake with fresh blueberries, linguini with clams, fried risotto balls, and delicious ice cream from an Ohio favorite, Jenis (2 flavors - pistachio honey and loaded biscuits and peach jam - yes, that’s a flavor!) I am ready for a calorie break!!!

Doing double time today- did a 2 mile walk sub-14 mins and Plan on a Run tonight.

Ready for a new week ! Congrats to all- especially Sabaray on 10 miles- I’m so amazed and MOWC on your stroll in the park- 13 + miles!!!

abasket, hope you had a wonderful birthday!

We can get Jeni’s in Virginia - Whole Paycheck usually has a great selection. We used to love Graeter’s when we lived in Ohio and I have seen it from time to time here in the freezer section. Not the same as going to the shops, though.

I am not exercising today. Next week has me doing an eleven mile run and honestly, I’m not sure if I want to invest that much time in running. I need to think about what I reasonably want to do without hurting myself.

Steady rain here. Glad I got in an outdoor run yesterday. Home workout with stability ball, Bodylastics, and dbs is the plan for today.

We have Jeni’s here, but fortunately, not convenient to me.

Thanks, all. I hope WildChild hangs onto this one! Right now he is stranded in the middle of NJ - broke a stem on his spare after flatting 65 miles into 100+ mile bike ride. Don’t even get me started… If he survives Kona it will be a miracle. He has a sports hernia, torn labrum in hip- can’t walk without a limp, much less run- and Kona is in 3 weeks… Surgery after Kona. And I’m taking it hourly as far as when I get on a plane back to PA for my mother. Just a little stressed…

Legs are more tired from yesterday’s tough, hilly 14 than from a race. Did 3 1/2 today. Gorgeous day- feels like Colorado here today. Hot air balloons went right by our back yard this morning.

Saba…10 miles, great accomplishment
abasket happy late b-day. I love pistachios. I’d have a hard time resisting that ice cream too.

Thursday…New 5k pr 28:15
Saturday…Ran 2.5 (21.46) then walked 4.5 with DH.
Sunday…Hiked 7 miles (1660 ft. elevation) at Crowders Mountain State Park (NC). Weather was perfect. View from the top totally worth it.

Might take Monday off.

Sending hugs your way MOWC, must be a very tough time for you.

Walked 3 1/2 miles with DH on this lovely fall day. He kept up with me–I’m proud of him! Now it’s time for drinkies. :)
