sabaray- the long runs DO take a long time and it is a big investment. It certainly isn’t for everyone, and I can understand why people stick to the shorter stuff. It’s a lot easier to get hurt with distance, too.

Thanks, abasket. One day at a time.

3.3 miles added to my 2 mile fast walk this morning. Wouldn’t normally do that much in a day (not counting the 40 mins or so slow walking doggie!) but really wanted to attack those calories of the weekend.

Kind of mad that I didn’t go for 4 tonight - that would have been a personal best for me. I just didn’t think about extending it though I felt I could have done it. Another time!

MOfWC, more cyber hugs to you.

MOWC needs a group cyber hug. I vote we all send her one at 10 PM Eastern.

There is a part of me that really, really, really wants to keep up with running and fitting in the longer runs. Most of it is just me wanting to prove to myself that yes, I can do it and to a lesser extent proving to my darn family that yes, I can do it. When I’m running, all that I’m thinking about is running. Not my stupid job, or my family issues, or what’s for dinner. It’s become a blessed relief as of late. I’ll see what this week brings.

Running really is good for escaping life! It’s the longest I go without being plugged into my electronics, too. That’s sort of nice, since I’m pretty OCD about my texts, emails, etc.

Sending cyber hug a bit early.

Took deep water running (tons of fun!) and swim lessons (not so much - I’m not a strong swimmer), 2 hour bike ride with H and then CorePower yoga.

I feel like there are so many classes I want to take, between yoga, Pilates, doing strength work, dance, deep water running, boxing, learning the kettlebell stuff, doing the Chalean Extreme which I never started … I have a 5K this coming weekend and another the weekend afterwards, and I might start thinking about going 5K-to-10K. Or maybe not - we’ll see! I told H I need to retire sooner to work on my body full-time, lol. It is such a weird feeling for me to actually crave / want to exercise and feel antsy if I can’t.

Late to the party for the group cyberhug but will manipulate time with my magic comp to pretend I was there  sending WildChild extra healing mojo for Kona too!

Had something of a lazy day yesterday…might have been “recovery” from the garage clean out, or recovery from the food binge. At any rate, w’ell call that my down day and call today a new day :)

Belated happy birthday, ABasket!

Idad, I was speaking figurately of the crab walk…not sure I could do it either  Lets just say I wouldn’t be upright!

idad, I filmed myself doing the FMS last night. Haven’t actually scored it completely yet, but let’s just say I’ve got some work to do  It’s several clips on my iPad that I’m going to try to combine into one later on when I have a chance…

Thanks for the group hug! I felt it!

Fall has arrived - for the moment, at least. Chilly start to the day. 2 miles with Sabadog around the neighborhood. He seems to enjoy the cool weather - moving at a brisk clip. Our last dog had to stop and sniff everywhere - Sabadog is eager to keep moving along. There may be hope for him as a running partner yet.

Did NOT like what the scale was telling me today. Eating the smallest bit of carb (bread) seems to send me into a carb-fest. Need to find that magic maintenance mode. I know it’s out there somewhere.

Fall here, too. Even after 35 years of running I never quite know what to wear when the weather first turns cool. It’s hard to get out of bed, too. 52 degrees, clear, dry. Lulu capris, light weight long sleeved Lulu shirt. Many people would have been OK in shorts- I prefer to be warm, espec first thing in the morning. 3 miles. Legs still trashed from the park on Saturday. I’m not sure training in the park is all that good for me if I can’t do it more regularly. I may start walking up the bigger hills and see if that helps.

Going to see an ortho guy today about having hardware removed from my ankle. Have been walking about a mile a day and doing some upper body work. I really really miss my regular workouts and I’m feeling like a slug. Worried that I’m going to have to start at square one once I can get back into my routine. Weight holding steady, which surprises me because I’m definitely one of those folks who eats mindless while I’m stressed.

Great NH hikes IDad–nice that you can see improvement. When I hiked in Yosemite two years ago (Vernal Falls and Nevada Falls) I saw lots of young women in flip flops and sandals. Couldn’t believe they were actually trying to hike wearing them. Go figure.

Congrats on the long run Saba. Hugs (belated) to you MOWC–you’ve got a lot on your plate. Enjoyed reading the interview with WC’s girlfriend.

Hope you get some news that will mean progress for you Brom.

Back from California. I couldn’t get that darn broken toe in a shoe so I walked in flip flops. I even hit 10 miles in one day!!! My feet hurt a little but it wasn’t bad. Slow but steady!

Hiking in flip flops - that’s the California way!

Managed to run measly 3.4 miles yesterday. Nasty, rainy, cold and gray - are all Monday mornings supposed to be like that?!

Welcome back NM!

NMINN:

All you needed was an ankle length hippie skirt to go with your flip flops and you would have been the height of hiking fashion!

Hope the toe heals quickly!

4 mi run at the gym

iDad, you beat me to it! I was just going to suggest that. I wonder if Lulu makes any ankle length skirts.

Glad you’re back, NM, and hope you had a good trip. Bromfield, I hope a visit to the specialist gives you some options. That is the pits.

LuLu had something like an ankle length skirt on the Canadian website a couple of weeks ago. It wasn’t flowy, though. Some sort of cover-up for after yoga. It looked awful.

In other Lulu news, I’m going to Vancouver for a legal conference (H gets to go, too, at no expense to us) and I’m SO excited to go to the Vancouver Lulu store. I know they have some different merchandise in Canada. I’m also excited about the rest of Vancouver, too, since it is a great city.
