4.05 mi treadmill run

Rainy and miserable, 4.34 on the treadmill. Sabadog doesn’t have a treadmill, so off in the rain we go.

PetZen. Who knew? Did a search, but I didn’t really expect anything to come up!

[PetZen DogTread Small Motorized Dog Treadmill at PETCO](http://www.petco.com/product/115128/PetZen-DogTread-Small-Motorized-Dog-Treadmill.aspx?cm_mmc=CSEMGoogleAdExtProd%20-_-Treadmills-_-PetZen-_-1451901&gclid=CNWWkeWZjboCFWfhQgoddx8A3Q)

Followed this with a search for “cat treadmill” and not surprisingly found a picture of a cat reclining on the treadmill belt, lol.

Hmmm. Intriguing, but wouldn’t fulfill the intended…ah…* purpose*…of the walk.

Wish I could post pictures. This morning was the Underpants Run, which is a Kona Ironman tradition. Elite athletes and their families- in various, um, pieces of underwear. Thongs, tighter whites, boxers, bikinis- it was interesting. WildChild and his coach made the official picture that is on Triathlete magazine website. I ran 5.6 miles before that, including some hills. It’s hot here. We walked around forever at the Expo, getting to meet famous (to us) people.

That sounds pretty amusing, MOWC. ;)

Google triathlete magazine and it will take you to pictures of the underpants run. Great pictures! Lots of fit people that you don’t mind in a state of undress lol!

Good work, Deb. My guys are picture 38. WildChild has grey shirts and a HR monitor. Coach is to his left in a white hat and obscene shorts that you can’t see, thankfully.

I’ve got to look that up. Will make sure no one else is in the room when I do that… :)

3.1 run - could EVERYDAY be sunny and 68 degrees???

Grey shorts, that is. I swear, my iPad typing has gotten terrible.

Garmin was giving away free colored straps for the 910, which is what I have! Cool.

Yay, eddie. Five pound parties for you and the hubby. That’s fantastic! I hope you are jumping for joy. It’s especially cool that you are both having success…

To the basement for me. Did the dreaded single leg deadlifts. Only wobbled enough to put a hand on my bar stool once in three sets. Not bad. Some reps are better than others.

I’ve been doing Bunsen Burner’s pushups, with my feet up at kitchen counter height – actually on an Airex pad on top of a DB rack. Those things are hard. Really nice progression to make pushups a little more challenging. DB front squats (dumbbellls at the shoulders) and 3-pt DB rows to round out the weight lifting part of the workout.

MOWC:

Did you run the underwear run?

I’m glad I don’t have to do that. It would probably be too much for the spectators!

I didn’t do the underwear run, although I would have if logistics worked out better. H and I held all their phones, shorts etc. It probably wasn’t over a mile, actually.
Got 2 really cool pictures today- 1 of WildChild with the pro winner of 2012 Poconos Ironman 70.3 (son was amateur winner) and one with me and the pro, Jesse Thomas, who is adorable and a new Dad.

Kudos Eddie. Great work!
MomWC, looks like a blast!
Can’t figure out the pic though as there aren’t any grey shorts in pic number 38, but I get the general idea :)

Looks like the pictures are changed and reordered. Oh well.

Local tri store does a satellite underwear run to benefit diabetes research. We did it one year. I was the oldest person by a good ten years. One of my sons won a prize for best costume----essentially for being the nakedest.

Good times,

MOfWC, it sounds like your family is enjoying Kona so far You definitely needed some sunshine. Undie run - what a hoot! I am glad I took a peek at the photos yesterday since it looks like they have been messed with. I wisely found a quiet corner and opened the photos on my iPhone; otherwise, my coworkers could have thought that I was checking out something notsoworkappropriate.

Good luck to WC on conquering the ocean and the lava fields!

Better this time of year for the undie runners than those polar bear plunge events! Brrrrr.

Any run in my underwear I can guarantee would be at warp speed. Really would like to be in Hawaii right now! Cool and rainy here, so another day on the treadmill. 5.39 miles.

Underwear run… That would be a good excuse to buy something really expensive “Honey, but I really need this $200 bra to train for my race!” LOL.

Not a great running week for me…
