Beautiful New England day–did a 3.0 mile walk, came home and did a 20 minute KB routine. We’re having friends over to watch the World Series tonight–I made my own snack so I wouldn’t be tempted by the mountains of carbs that H is offering the guests!
Cut up a plate of my favorite raw veggies and made a blue cheese dip.

Good for you Brom - blue cheese dip- delicious anyway!!!

Definitely, permission granted. There are so many fun core exercises that it only makes sense to mix it up. I do try to keep some kind of plank and side plank in my workouts, but only one “set”. For example, today, I’m doing one of my 3 minute sets of plank/side plank (with feet elevated in the Jungle Gym straps), then one set of stability ball dead bugs, then one set of the stabiity ball side toe touches. Last workout was one set of the planks, then ab wheel rollouts, then pallof press. A nice little core workout, without getting bored to tears or sick of any one exercise.

Basement for me. Did the spiderman pushups, with my feet in the Jungle Gym straps. Three sets of 8. Fun, fun, fun… :)

A mile walk plus some serious weight lifting aka IKEA shopping. Now we are exercising our brains by trying to figure out which square peg fits into which round hole.
Very interesting - the closet system we bought consists of mostly Italian-made parts.

Nothing like an Italian construction puzzle to get the mind firing, Bunsen
Ever read DaVinci’s Altantis Codex? I’m sure the closet organizer people did ;)

On planks…form rules, but I do still try to do one to exhaustion (of form). I think I might now try the “roll” plank shown in the video below…where you move from the plank to the side plank maintaining form.

This is a 12 min video that refers to McGill’s work and addresses a plank roll, kb carries and baby get-ups as corrective treatment for knee pain, IT issues and shoulder pain. It’s long, but since I recall someone previously suffering IT band issues and knee issues, I thought it was worth posting even though its a tad technical :)

Currently watching the video KMC posted. Reminds me that I did not start with full side planks, I started with modified side planks. Can’t believe I forgot that!

At long last, a 5 pound party. Total weight loss - 60 pounds. Quite a few ups and downs the past few months, but that’s okay.

6.4 miles yesterday, easy 5.8 today. I need to start thinking of my November goal.

Yay, Sabaray. Party Time! 60 pounds is awesome.

Bought the damn halloween candy today. Whoever came up with this nonsense ought to be shot. Really.

Managed to put it all away in a grocery bag in the closet without getting into a single piece. I think I’m going to impose a one-piece-a-day limit on myself and see how that goes.

I tried keeping it in the trunk of the car last year. The only thing that accomplished was getting cold dashing out to the car in my PJs… :)

Sabaray, a full hand clap and a high five for your amazing achievements- your weight loss, your running victories, your handling the ups and downs. kudos!!!

Sabaray- super kudos. Huge loss and way to stick with it!

7 beautiful fall miles on the Perkiomen Trail this morning. Too tired for the planned 10. Heading back to TN now.

Another high five for Sabaray!

MOWC, I hope you get in a good snooze back in TN.

Haven’t bought any Halloween candy yet. Putting it off as long as possible. I keep thinking, oh, it’s only a few pieces…by the time I have a “few” pieces I might as well have eaten a one pound box of Godiva.

You all are really good cheerleaders. It is appreciated.

Huge kudos to sabaray!

Safe travels, MOfWC. Hope that you will get some rest and a break from traveling.

Idad, the main problem with Halloween candy is the leftovers! I used to take ours straight to the office or the garbage can.
Nowadays, we do not get any trickotreaters, so the problem is gone.

Almost 3.0 mile run outside - was able to run on a golf course near my house now that no one is golfing- It was beautiful and peaceful. Will have to repeat that!!!

Looks like everyone is having an interesting & productive day out there!

DH and I did a nice walk through a wooded area that has creek trails. So we lost & gained quite a bit of altitude. Only 2 miles but it was varied terrain & a sunny day. :)

I don’t plan to buy the Halloween candy until Thursday! Have to decide between junk I will give away to someone’s office candy jar the next day or good stuff (dark chocolate) that I will enjoy having around. I have no problem limiting myself to one or two small pieces a day. We dont’ get that many kids around here anyway.

I’ve had Halloween candy in the house for 3 weeks and haven’t had a piece. Not a thing for me to resist. Now the caramel spice cake with apple cider frosting I made yesterday for company?? TOTALLY different story ! :).

We have a candy can in the office. It almost always has chocolate in it… :(

I’m going down to DC to go to a Neko Case concert with my daughter. Flying back on Halloween, but trick or treat may still be going on so I would hate to be empty handed. Have resisted so far.

Fried chicken caesar salad for dinner. I outdid myself with my grandmother’s fried chicken this time.
