Trainer and swim for me. I was sore from the last trainer session. This one wasn’t as bad so I don’t expect much soreness. Lots of aerobic activity. Another cold day in the pool, so 2700 free.

I think there are a number of good brands- and then a range of models in each brand. It appears that the Woodway line is a different level entirely and different technology. It would definitely be overkill for most of us, but it does look like the best of class.

iDad is right about the Woodway Curve. It is more for intervals and burning calories- it is a hard effort machine. I’ll check out the other ones!

19 minutes 35 seconds on the Airdyne. Half mile intervals. The first 3 minutes (easy warmup) and the last 2 minutes (easy cool down) felt good. :)

I intentially didn’t push for a record speed. Max heart rate 94% of my max. Shorts and t-shirt. Heat off in the room. 65 degrees. Box fan blowing on me from 2 feed away.

This is going to be a long winter if this cold doesn’t let up soon. Not to mention pending snow. My goal is always to make it till Christmas WITHOUT snow - not this year!

30 mins on the indoor track. Having to exercise before I leave work- where the exercise facility is- and not being able to run outside , generally leaves me nothing more than 30 mins to be able to get in. Maybe one longer jaunt on the weekend.

Yeah. It’s 16 degrees here right now. And, really, just horrible conditions all around for doing anything outside. I did get to test out my new down hoody in some seriously cold weather today, but that’s about the only upside to this weather.

So after I pointed out the ice hockey treadmills I’d come across online, my husband cracks a joke, “How about roller derby treadmills?” Sure enough…

I think we all look like those videos- in our heads! I still remember how excited I was to see my finish line video from 2009 Country Music Marathon (my return to marathoning out of retirement- on a 85 degree April day) because I had this glorious kick down the finish stretch! Well, in reality it looked like I was stumbling and weaving. What a laugh I had over THAT!

Pried some running shoes off the shelf to put in the Goodwill box that are not at all worn out, but that just haven’t worked out for me. Need room for some new pairs that are in my Christmas pile. Brooks Connect (Pepto pink color) and Brooks Drift just didn’t do it for me, and they aren’t going to improve with age! Newtons don’t have good enough sole wear for me to justify the expense. Sticking with Hoka, Altra Torin, Brooks Flow and Ghost.

3 miles this morning- 23 degrees but no wind.

Have been doing yoga and pilates like a madwoman. I’m going to start the running plan towards the 15K after the first of the year, and I’m ok with that. Weight seems to have plateaued and I don’t like the number but I’m pleased with how I look.

So, this was the ultimate (sorry, guys). I have 2 cocktail parties to go to and I stopped by an upscale resale shop. The salesperson held out 2 St. John knit dresses in a SIZE TWO. I said size 2 - are you crazy? I’m nowhere near that small (and I’m not). She said, humor me, so I did. They fit perfectly. Now - I’m quite sure St. John knits have vanity sizing, but even if it vanity-sizes me to a 6, I’m beyond pleased - when I was pushing 12’s in my pants less than a year ago! So, net-net – 2 St. John knit dresses, original retail easily $600+ apiece, each for $98, and a size 2. What more could a girl want? Ha ha.

And, my pilates teacher actually brought some of her other clients to see me so she could demonstrate how someone CAN make progress! I think I’m flattered!
