Finally feeling better–3.0 mile walk. Not looking forward to going back east–temperature this afternoon in
San Francisco was 61 degrees. Also walked to movie theater (1.7 miles round trip).

Dreadmill for me this am due to another early meeting. Perhaps I should just get a headlamp and suck my notion that the hill and trail in the dark would be like the Blair witch project :)

Semi-bad food weekend in that mch had bought me one of those wheeled, party style popcorn machines for Xmas that uses that tasty, fattening, oil stuff. He bought it not realizing my weekend popcorn habit was AIR popped for a reason. So of course I don’t seem to have the discipline not to use the pre-measured bags that come with it.

The only good news is that I did not eat it in one sitting, but instead had it last the whole weekend amidst the “pre-staining window and door woodwork” project that ate up all my meaningful hike time.

The trail will have a fresh foot and tomorrow will be brutal.

Thanks for the kind words. I was pretty excited about my run yesterday. Early morning workout today – stretch/core torture/strength.

Great job getting in the miles, Sabaray!

Peacefulmom, keep on keepin’ on. :-)

BB, thumbs up.

And what do the gentlemen have in store for today, I wonder?

3.25 easy miles today. I’m fighting off a cold, so I decided to keep the miles low.

Great run Deborah! I missed some of yesterday’s posts due to the new format and because I was trying to figure it all out on my iPad.

MOfWC, awesome avatar! :)

Deborah, good job yesterday. I’m still getting used to the new CC look on my iPhone. My biggest beef with it is why it does not have an option to view the full site version! I find most mobile sites awfully simplistic and annoying.

Sounds like lots of good runs! All I can say about Deborah running is 7 miles and BB cranking out 10 is ^:)^

Glad to hear that BB and Bromfield are recovering from winter colds. Those just drag on and on and on, it seems.

kmcmom, knock on wood, I haven’t had to break out the headlamp for hiking yet. Not really something that sounds like much fun. The young whippersnappers around here hike back to their cars after dark all the time, but it seems like asking for trouble to me. Now, you are in REAL trouble with a twisted ankle. I carry it, but not looking forward to using it.

Depending on the oil, popcorn probably isn’t the worst snack around. A lot of it is made with coconut oil, which is pretty healthy. And, at least it’s not loaded up with sugar. I’d say it’s better, for sure, than plowing thru a giant size box of Dots… Or an RC Cola and Moon Pie at the finish line of a race!

PT today in the pool. Taught me new stuff to do, and helped me modify some stuff I was doing in water aerobics class that probably is not the best for me yet. Still does not want me doing anything that involves supporting myself on one leg, except standing leg calf raises - those are OK. Perhaps with some standard squats and calf raises I won’t lose too much of my muscle tone.

Regular squats will keep your legs in awesome shape. The only thing you miss is the butt. If you can do the two leg version of hip bridges/hip lifts, you can take care of that!

<a href=“Hip Bridges - YouTube”>Hip Bridges - YouTube;

Kettlebell swings or a kettlebell sumo deadlift would also be good:

<a href=“Lift a Saggy Butt with the Kettlebell Sumo Deadlift - YouTube”>Lift a Saggy Butt with the Kettlebell Sumo Deadlift - YouTube;

Actually the bridge was one of the earlier exercises the PT gave me, but it’s been replaced. Maybe I’ll add it back in.

Thanks, MOWC, BB, and iDad. My feet haven’t fallen off; I consider that a good sign.

We still have a lot of missing parties here. I thought for sure we’d hear from MichaelNKat, Ohio, or Hops yesterday… Let’s see, Mommusic, PlantMom, Lizardly, Miami, CBBB? I believe PackMom and PG made the voyage. Who else?

NMinn?

ETA: I know what it is. They’re all busy choosing avatars.

I think everyone is frozen in place.

That, or they got blinded by the *&%$ white screen and their photoreceptors are re-adjusting to the brightness of light they have to stare at to be able to post here. :)

Haha! Afraid to post for a few days.

Trainer and spin. My chest still hurts, so no swim.

I am using an add-on of FireFox called “Color My Site” to tone down the white a bit.

I hate this new format.

I’ve been slow with the workouts, but I need to be doing something!

Hops:

I’ve got an avatar that may help motivate you with that…

I’m here! Frozen but here! Went out to buy milk and my car said -1! Seriously this stinks.

On the treadmill. Boring

Things have been crazy here lately. H did something to his shoulder, after 4 doctors appointments and a cortisone shot, they think it might be a pinched nerve. Since he is in extreme discomfort he can’t really drive, so I’ve been driving him to his business meetings. It has cut into my training lol!

I’m hoping he’s on the mend slowly. That or he won’t be traveling so much this week.

I didn’t shovel snow but I had to run the snowblower. It’s a huge 2 step thing. It’s a lot of machine for me to haul around. We are at the point in the winter where we are so over this. We are good about using the snowblower but later in the winter we only use the snowblower when we can’t get out of the driveway. Only got 2-3 inches today, if we drive over it a couple of times it packs down.

Ouch. I wonder if your hubby has pinched a cervical nerve in his neck. I had that problem once. Just excruciating pain radiating down my shoulder. I had to ride in my wife’s convertible with my arm outstretched through the open top as the only way I could stand it in the car. I ended up in the emergency room at midnight on a Saturday thinking I was having a heart attack. No heart problems, but the docs were useless after that. The nurse practitioner at the docs on Monday morning took one look at me and asked how long I’d been holding my arm up (which I had been doing the whole time in the ER). She said, "you’ve got a compressed nerve root at the C4 or C5 vertebrae. In any case, hope he heals up soon.

I don’t miss my snowblower at all. Those things are easier than shovelling, but very hard work wrestling them around.
