DH has been very very sick with a terrible cold for almost a week now. Two doctors’ visits and no, he doesn’t have the flu, or pneumonia. Maybe a touch of bronchitis: He can barely inhale without coughing up part of a lung. So I had to shovel the entire driveway after our 8 to 10 inches last Tuesday, and then I shoveled our 1 to 2 inches again this morning. I skipped the gym last Tuesday because, I mean – really. That was a LOT of shoveling. But I made it Thursday and again today, and my back hurts. I’d better take it easy or we’ll both be invalids.

VeryHappy- I hope you stay healthy and your DH feels better soon!
DeborahT- Congratulations on your run!
Abasket-Thank you for the encouragement!

6.4 miles today and over 15,000 steps. I earned a 50 mile badge from my fitbit–email and everything! I must admit I was giddy with excitement and surprised. I didn’t realize this was part of the program- my husband set it up for me.

Arrgh. A sick spouse and solo snow shovelling is no fun at all. He must be really feeling awful to drag himself to the doctor, twice. And, I would think that shovelling 10 inches of snow equals at least couple trips to the gym. That is such hard work. I don’t think the human body is mean to work that way.

The forum redesign has some interesting features, but the emails are killing me.

It seems like I am getting an email for every post, rather than one until I revisit the thread. And since the poster’s name is now in the title, gmail can’t group them, so I currently have something like 18 emails from this thread clogging my inbox.

Shoveling is HARD. And IMO, not really great for your back! However it must be done.

So then how did you embed the YouTube videos Idad???

Dreaded Airdyne intervals for me. 3 x 1 mile again. I didn’t have it in me to push for a new record, so I took it nice and easy. Fast intervals were much slower than the other day, but the flip side of that is that the recovery to 70% of my max heart rate is much faster when it doesn’t have to fall from 100%, so the whole workout took me 3.5 minutes less time than the other day. Just over 19 minutes start to finish. Not too bad.

Only saw a max heart rate of 89%, which was fine. I was trying to get through these intervals at a pace that didn’t completely gobsmack me.

Got a really kickin’ Raconteurs song to get me thru the last interval. The final part of this song has real Who’s Next vibe:

Looks like you just past the link in your post, and the form embeds it automagically.

Test…

Well that didn’t work!!! No me wants to share how to post a hosted picture??? :((

Trying a YouTube…

but use on the first part.
Images used to be disallowed and I don’t think the IMG tag used to work. Maybe that has changed…

Abasket, to embed a photo, post the link like you did, but put {IMG} in front of the link and {/IMG} at the end, only replace the curly brackets with regular brackets [.

notrichenough, regarding your YouTube… ^:)^

Did you copy the link directly from the web page or save it to something else (like photobucket) first???

What is that symbol you posted above??? (Symbol before “on the first part”)

I should have spaced it out, it is just the square brackets:

I just typed “how to do a pushup” in youtube and that was at the top, honest… her pushup form is actually not that good - elbows are too wide… Although it was a little hard to focus on her pushup form…

The noparse tag no longer seems to work, that makes it more difficult to post on how to do stuff. :(

abasket, on your youtube attempt, I suspect mobile YouTube links are messing you up. I just past a standard youtube link (www.youtube etc) and the video embeds.

I’m on the iPad - that could be messing the links up…I usually catch into tech stuff pretty quick!!!

4.2 miles on the nice Precor treadmill in PA. 36.9 mile week. Ate everything in sight. Re-set tomorrow now that I’m back home supposed to be bitter cold again here in TN this week.

Had a splurge dessert – an apple. [-X

All in all, a good solid week of food tracking. About as well as I can do in laying off the snacks. Even though I eat healthy snacks (fruit, nuts, cheese), I needed to recalibrate portions. Not having two apples, not grabbing big handfuls of nuts, etc.

10.2 miles. Yay! Felt really, really strong. It is amazing what a difference fully functioning lungs make.
