Congrats MOWC! The timer not functioning must have been frustrating but to do the race and win your agr group in this weather is quite an accomplishment.

CountingDown, does your Garmin insist on wet food only? ![]()
Abasket, next they’ll have otter boxes for Garmins…*

ETA:
- watch shaped – doing a quick search it not surprisingly looks like there’s already something in the way of a bumper guard for every rectangular device imaginable

Snow shovelling, Round #… oh snap, I’ve lost track…

The worst of it. I have to set the alarm on a Sunday morning to wait around so that I can move the car when the plow guy shows up…

To the basement before that for my usual routine. Good solid workout. It’s getting a little too easy, so time to put together a new pair of workouts, I guess. Highlights tonight were the stability ball planks and the KB goblet squats. Both felt really strong. Box jumps were good, too. I stuck the landings.

Oh, and on the battle of the winter weight bulge, the scale gave me a little smile this morning. Lowest weight since August 31st. So I guess I’ve officially shed the winter insulation.

7 day average is down 3.5 pounds from 28 days ago.

One of the real challenges of maintenance is that two or three pounds make a difference. I’m going to go another few weeks with the tracking and see if scale continues to move. Need to stay trim to fit in the new hiking clothes.

Good morning. Kudos. momWC, on finishing despite feeling rough…I know for a fact I’d have just gone hid in a car and curled up like a baby in your shoes
hope you’re feeling better now!

I agree about that ludicrous sub. It’s one thing to know you’re a purveyor of crap, but quite another to call your ownership company “physicians associates” and put fritos on a sub or road chems in your bread :)

So, debauch over and time to do a bit of hill and kettle bell penance today. Treated myself to a visit to an en route outlet mall on the way home yesterday and still delighted at the year-over-year size differential…which at the very least, should motivate me for maintenance!

Hoping though to stay off the roof today :)

Speaking of which, Notrichenough…the image of you up on the roof with sledgehammer in hand and skylights tells me you’re much more coordinated than me :)

The work is worth it though…the leaks have stopped.

Please don’t take my fritos away! Looking at a bag now: 160 calories for 10 chips, 10 g fat, sat fat 1.5 g, total carb 16 g, sugar 0 g, protein 2 g. Ingredients: corn, corn oil salt.

This is day 7 with no soda and sugar. It has been very hard and cravings very bad esp for a soda. Last night I ate the last bit from a bag of fritos because I knew I wouldn’t eat too many because the bag was almost empty ( who leaves so few chips in the bag?) and I felt better and fritos don’t trigger a binge for me.

Tonight however is sangria night! We are celebrating a 21st birthday. Woohoo.

What a stupid, stupid article:

<a href=“Life After Massive Weight Loss: It's Not Always Perfect”>Life After Massive Weight Loss: It's Not Always Perfect;

These morbidly obese people have deep psychological problems in addition to weight issues that did not go away with their weight loss. To translate that as every person losing a chunk of unnecessary body weight should feel similarly about the loss is stupid.

Somebody who was sheepish about nearly eating the entire bag after opening it… Been there, done that, got the XL t-shirt. :)

Trip to the gym with my husband. 4 mile treadmill run. Today was faster than yesterday’s 4 mile run and yet felt easier. If only we knew how to clone the workouts like that!

Heheh… I keep a deathgrip on the hammer as I fear I will drop it through one of the skylights. I keep way back from the edge too.

Today there is a huge collection of icicles all along the edge of the upper roof, but they don’t pose a danger to anything. I’ll climb back out tomorrow and see if the ice dam is back. I have covers on my gutters so getting the ice dam off isn’t too hard, I just have to make sure a giant piece of ice doesn’t fall and hit the windows.

More snow coming Tuesday although it doesn’t look like a huge amount at this time. When we get a warmup and hopefully some melting.

Slogged through 4.3 miles on a (finally) gorgeous day.50-52 and sunny while I ran and now 57. I sat out on the deck for awhile (after I walked the dog) and just felt the sun on my face. It was wonderful!

It is a balmy 14 degrees today. Actually feels very good. Tweaked my back chasing D1’s dog…ugh. Just woke up from a pain pill and muscle relaxer induced nap. I never nap! Hoping the relaxer and heat will loosen things up and get me back in the gym tomorrow.

MOWC, Bobbie Knight??

Has the LANDICE 7 arrived? I look forward to your review.

Yep- Bobby Knight! Couldn’t resist. The treadmill got delayed due to the weather, but should be here tomorrow or Tuesday. Can’t wait, although the weather is supposed to be better this week.

42 degrees, showers/hail mixed with sunbreaks. 14 miles on a pretty much empty trail averaging 8 min pace. I am very impressed with my Lulu running gear! As I was beginning my run, I got soaked by a mighty cold shower/hail mix, but then as my body warmed up a bit, the tech fabric wicked away all rain water, and I ended my run dry and happy.

32 degrees, sledding (ok, saucers) with son! We had to slog a half mile to the hill and a half mile back, so legs got their workout for the day. And it was so much fun! We were the only ones out there–guess everyone else was inside watching the Olympics?

Good run, BB! Glad all the LuLu stuff worked!

Thanks, MOfWC! This was the longest run of the year so far, and I was very pleased that my outfit choice was spot on! I wore a longer version of this pant:

http://shop.lululemon.com/products/clothes-accessories/crops-run/Cut-The-Crop?cc=13358&skuId=3533251&catId=crops-run
and this prison-striped shirt:

http://shop.lululemon.com/products/clothes-accessories/women-we-made-too-much/Base-Runner-Long-Sleeve-MD?cc=12250&skuId=3525050&catId=women-we-made-too-much

With my Brooks Nightlife vest and my trusted Brooks PureCadence shoes.

Wow. That’s a pretty snazzy running outfit. The stripes alone had to have knocked at least 15 seconds a mile off your pace!
I’m glad I’m not the only one who kicks it up a notch from an old cotton sweatshirt…

Last summer, the third day of the Habitat for Humanity ride I did was on that Friday in June when the tropical storm hit Pennsylvania. 65 miles in a continuous downpour. My daughter had given me a lulu runners’ rain jacket which I wore.I was amazed at how effective it was at keeping my upper body dry while still ventilating to avoid that yucky clammy feeling rain jackets often cause. Other riders told me they just watched the rain bead up and flow off the jacket. Of course, it didn’t do a bit of good for my lower body, and I drained a quarter cup of water out of my bike frame at the end of the day, and even had water in my tires, but the jacket did its job remarkably well particularly given that it was not a cycling specific jacket. Lulu is expensive but worth the cost. Plus the 8 young female racers I was riding with thought I was very stylish (which of course was more important than staying dry).
