Great doc, Sabaray! And good job on good push-ups!

Ryan Adams concert sounds fantastic, idad–especially if your video is any indication.

Today i had about three miles of walking, and a core strength workout. Yesterday I took my bike for a short spin, and H and I walked to Mexico for dinner. Mexican Pavilion that is It has poured rain for the last two nights, so we got a great soaking along with our meal. Tagged along with some family to see other sights.

The guy standing next to me at the concert (and in line beforehand) started posting his YouTube videos. This was my view. But, for the real ambience, you to pretend it’s 100 degrees and you’ve been standing for 5 hours! :)

Been gone for a few months. Very busy with “life” issues involving elderly parents and significant changes in their lives, work and my pursuit of an American Council on Exercise personal training certification. From my quick perusal, hope everyone who has suffered injuries and other setbacks are on the road to recovery and resumption of their fitness and health lifestyles.

Took and passed my certification exam today. Six months and countless hours later, I did it; something that I promised myself years ago I would accomplish when the time was right. Age is not a barrier; it’s determination and the will to pursue your goal that count. Plus the incentive of demonstrating to your kids that at the age of 60+, your brain synapses are firing just fine despite what they say . ;)

Congratulations, Michael! Truly great for you to do that and I know you will be great at personal training. Thought about you this past weekend while I was in PA/NJ and navigating the multiplying bicycles that my son and his girlfriend have in their apartment. I think they breed (the bicycles) overnight!

Glad you have returned to our thread!

Thanks, Bunsen- I got home about 11pm last night. Travel is not fun these days. I had hoped to make it to hot yoga today, but the day job got seriously in the way. May be Saturday before I can go.

Five hot, humid miles of run/walking yesterday. Cross Fit workout today. I think I am doing a good job of pushing myself but staying safe. Now I’m trying to get our business and family ready for my two-week absence beginning next Thursday! I’m a little nervous about how my family will do, since I’m the scheduler/coordinator for everyone. All I can do is give them the schedule and hope they look at it daily!

ML, it’s a lot of work getting ready to go on vacation, isn’t it? I’m pretty tired of the humidity. Exercise so far today has been vigorous dog walking. Feeling like a slug.

That’s a really odd connection–through Orlando–MoWC.

Humidity and heat are really dragging on me too. I walked about 3 miles today, and did one of the Cosgrove metabolic workouts at home: dumbbell alternating reverse lunge, Romanian deadlift; High Pull; and Front Squat to Push Press. I guess I need to read the instructions better. You’re supposed to do 8 reps of each of the four exercises, one after another, and then rest. Four sets. I did twice as many–my legs can feel it.

I made a crunchy sweet watermelon cucumber avocado salad for dinner (SoupAddict recipe), and a Mediterranean turkey burger patty (AHA). Very fresh tasting, although the salad dressing was a tad too sweet.

That’s a brutal exercise. Gets me bent over panting like a dog in no time flat. I think it uses every muscle in your body (and then some). There’s something about combo upper and lower body exercises that gas you really quickly. I guess the oxygen demand for all those muscles simultaneously is really, really high. It’s a big reason why the Airdyne is a torture machine.

Thanks, abasket. I was a little nervous since I’m not cleared to run yet, but it’s been 8 weeks since I started healing (went on crutches) which should be long enough. I tried out a minute or 2 runs this week and it felt oK. Just a little achyness occasionally. I just want to be careful.

Thank you everyone for your good wishes. Celebrated by doing a 36 mile ride in a little over 2 hours with a bunch of other riders. A great way to end a great day.

To the basement for a geezer workout. I shot some video so I could see if I had improved on some of these exercises. The split squats never get any easier.

My first reaction to this article by Kristin Armstrong (Lance’s ex) was “I could never do those things”. Actually, there is some really good advice in it and I’m going to (try to) take it to heart. What do y’all think?
