That sounds like a wonderful trip, CBB! I know I would have a hard time with tapas since I would want to try everything…and eat most of it!
Ditto. ^^^
CBB, that sounds fabulous! And Deb is on your heels of traveling internationally - our thread is so worldly!!!
Sending good thoughts to @C3Baker for a satisfying BIG run this weekend!!
CBB, not gaining any weight after a fabulous vacation is a huge win.
Have a great trip, Deb! Good luck C3Baker!
Really envious of all you who are able to wear pullovers. It is still so hot! I ran 3 very long miles yesterday; it was already a sticky 80 something degrees. No fun.
Balega socks arrived. Wow! They’re a little easier on the wallet than the lulu clothing BUT just as comfy and stylish–even if they’re under the shoes. I love the feeling of support on my high arches and the way socks fit around the foot with the extra padding. Must get more.
We had friends visiting yesterday and I was also getting a care package ready for my DS, so the eating incorporated more than a few too many carb treats. PB choc chip cookies, an herb bread I made with white flour, pumpkin pie, and honey crisp apple cider–oh my. It’s time to get out in the steamy outdoors and walk off a little of the goodness.
Last night when I ran I did not wear my Balega socks - I had on some old socks because I was doing some yard work before the run so I just left them on. I could feel the difference in my left foot that has some annoying callouses on it as opposed to the last few times running wearing Balega. They are going to be the new stocking stuffer for my kids this year!
C3Baker, good luck!
Best of luck C3B!!!
CBB- Glad you got home and the trip sounds like a huge success. Welcome back to the real world!
C3B- Good luck and I can’t wait to hear about it. I think your race is a good one and hopefully all goes well.
We aren’t wearing the pullovers hear by any means. I just like to have it for when the time comes. It has been in the mid-70s this week, although it is changing later today.
I have a 10 mile race tomorrow and then something called Wine Down Main Street tomorrow night. You literally have this sling that goes around your neck that holds your wine glass while you go from station to station, shop to shop on our lovely Main Street. There is food, too. Did I mention lots of wine? You have to really pace yourself. It’s fun, though.
MOfWC, that sounds like a super fun race!! I would totally sign up for something like this.
Wait. The Wine Down is not a running event though, right?! Because if it is, THIS is something I have to see!!!
I was reading about quirky races in the US last night & learned about the Denver Gorilla Run. The registration fee includes a full gorilla suit (discount if you own your own) & everyone runs in full gorilla mode. New this year is the option to run as a banana instead. All those running bananas - aargh, the stuff of nightmares!! The run benefits the Mountain Gorilla Conservation Society. This one may be worth a journey…http://denvergorillarun.com/
Lol, Gertude.
Looked up the Wine Down - I thought it was a “beer mile” kind of an event. Nope. I see photos of folks in street clothes. Even better!
Hmmm…wonder if there are any races where one wears a gorilla suit and drinks wine simultaneously? That would be something, for sure!
Gotta pace the running AND the wine consumption!!
No- the Wine Down Main Street is an evening event. I won’t even do a beer mile. I would throw up.
Lol, MOfWC, I thought it was a post-10 miler kind of a “adult fun” walk/race and wondered how on Earth it could be managed! Beer mile - I don’t think so, but I could probably do a “wine mile”, just not after a 10-miler!
The food and wine fundraiser sounds wonderful. Although I would definitely get drops of red wine on my shirt if I carry a glass on a sling.
Usually, college boys can get away with not working out much their freshman and sophomore years, but all the beer drinking and sitting around catches up to them by senior year. This happened to my son so he had to begin hitting the gym regularly once he noticed a little pot belly appearing.
Good luck on your marathon C3Baker and to MoWC on your 10 mile race!
Interesting…

Another core day for me! My muscles feel it, but I’m back to being able to do 35-40 pushups with my feet on the bed in under 1 min!
Easy 6 miles this morning with a friend running a half next weekend - super humid and 60 degrees!
