Hope Mr. B made it safely home! I don’t see 18k dumbbells in my future, sadly.
Back to tackling my nemesis the hill this morning. Absolutely beautiful moon and stars. Great morning for a run. I am ready to face the day!

I want to wear my gold- not lift it!
Hope Mr. B arrives without further incident!
I’m not out the door yet for my 5 miles.
Good job on the hills, Sabaray!
@ohiopublic, here are some links with more info:

MK - thanks for the info. I’m trying to get a little more knowledgeable about this cycling thing for triathlon season next summer. Going to need even more help with my swimming. I’m pretty much a train wreck. I think I might take a weekend course in immersion swimming in December. Only thing holding me back is they want 400 bucks. But if it gives a chance for a 50 cent medal this summer it’ll be well worth it. Plus I don’t spend a lot of $$$ on lululemon!
Happy Thanksgiving prep day to everyone.
Not at work today, just working from home on some of my dishes for tomorrow. I have a cheddar herb and a lemon cranberry almond yeast dough mixed up. Beets are roasted for beet feta salad. Letting it warm up a tad out there and then will head out for some exercise - what a treat to have the luxury of more hours to decide when to get out!
Thanks, everyone! The airport traffic was such a zoo!! I devised a perfect plan and avoided the crowds. Mr. is safely back, and we even went to bed before 1 am!
Battling the hill today for a short day in the city. 27 degrees! Then a dash home and then back to the airport. I feel like a cab driver.
Just a hair under 5 miles this morning. Not really feeling the love, but I got it done. I’ve had this slight “issue” recently with my right leg/hip – there’s not really any pain, but I feel as if there’s a slight “hitch” in my gait; as if that foot might drag/catch on the treadmill/ground. Anyone have any ideas what that’s about?
H had D come over the other night for a “talk.” Pretty miserable all around. I am hoping H is coming around, though – he got up and went to Mass this morning (he’s Catholic; I’m not – we had to work out our own issues re: religion when we got married) and is going back later today to talk with the priest. I see this as progress – this church is pretty progressive/liberal within the Catholic religion, so I’m hoping the priest will tell H to chill out a little.
So sorry you have to endure that stress over what should be a happy time CBB. It sounds like your future SIL is a great guy - just comes without the Catholic background!
@abasket – what size Fitbit did you end up buying? I’m debating between the small and large, and plan to get one at the Black Friday prices.
I bought the small and have plenty of room. I wear it with the clasp on the 5th “hole/slot” - so plenty of room to make it bigger if I needed to. I saw that Costco has them on sale Friday!
@fireandrain - I also bought the size small in the Fitbit Charge HR. But dig around on the Fitbit website – there’s a sizing guide for each wrist model. It’s a page you print out and then cut out the sizing strip to wrap around your wrist to determine the best size.
5.3 miles on the nice path. I took today off, although my job really doesn’t permit really being out of touch. WildChild never stops eating. He trains. He eats, he watches a movie, he eats…
We are in religious trauma here in TN since our Bishop has finally spoken on his rule for our diocese regarding same sex marriage and it is not in accordance with the national church. The worst part is that same sex couples will have to go to Kentucky to marry!

Sorry CBBB - I feel for you. We’ve had a similar family dynamic with my FIL, & I’m not sure he realizes the pain, stress & burden this places on everyone else. I hope everything turns out OK!
CBBB - Mr. Sabaray is Catholic and sounds much like your H. For some reason that church wedding is very important. I hope everything works out.
D has arrived but I am trapped here at work, wishing I could get moving on some prep for tomorrow!
Hope you were finally able to “escape” Sabaray!
4 mile run in 55 degree weather - yes! That should at least take care of the whipped cream calories tomorrow!!
I need to get my butt down to the trail and do some pre-turkey caloric detox.
Running came up in a conversation last afternoon. Some folks, it turns out, decided to run the Seattle Marathon. I am somewhat worried about one participant in particular… Let’s just say not well prepared… and no prior experience with distances over 15 miles. At least they know that eating something during the race is important!
Not running today–doing a 9 AM 5K “Tofurky Trot” tomorrow (where two friends and I expect to be the only omnivores in attendance) (but it’s a really nice course and quite close to my house) (so we’re good) (although last year I had to tell a woman I wasn’t going to discuss my eating habits while I was trying to run a race) (she insisted on telling me all about the virtues of veganism)–but I did take the dogs for a walk and get to the grocery store early for the ingredients for my contribution to tomorrow’s feast at our friends’ house (so hooray, I don’t have to clean up or cook more than one dish). (Note to compulsive copy editors: yes, that’s a run-on sentence. I know that. It’s okay. Really.) (And yes, I am making an awful lot of parenthetical remarks. It’s that kind of day.)
Attention, walkers:
Some light hiking today to a couple different waterfalls. It was a gorgeous day and so nice to be outside. This area is so hilly (and we were in the mountains), such a change from Back Home in Indiana!
dmd77-enjoy your TofurkyTrot tomorrow! I enjoyed your parenthetical run-on sentences! My dad used to accuse my mom of talking in parenthesis - there were always so many side tangents to any story that she told.
It sounds as if the cooks on the thread have some pretty amazing dishes planned for tomorrow! We’re having a small and pretty traditional meal here. All that matters is being with the family. And the apple pie.
