Broke in my new Athleta wind pant/tights - they feel SOO great! 35 and cloudy but no wind and it felt GREAT. 3.5 miles in the bag. Maybe try and sneak in a couple more miles tomorrow to round out the year and then will have to do a total.

I have 1652.3 miles for the year with tomorrow to go. I am not running any sort of distance tomorrow that would get me to a nice even number, so I’m trying to figure out how exciting 1657 is for the year. I have a 5K on horrific hills Friday morning for New Year’'s day. I should have just aimed for 1650. First world problems, right?

abasket- glad you love the tights!

On vacation in Key Biscayne staying with friends who rented a condo there for the winter. Did a parallettes workout (yes, I disassembled my wood parallettes and packed them in my suitcase; I think I’ve finally gone over the edge :D) followed up by my weighted chin ups and dips and some TRX (yup, I packed the dip belt and TRX too; I really have gone over the edge lol). Tomorrow will be Pilates in the morning and cardio in the late afternoon. Great start to a vacation!

I hope there is some beach time involved! Enjoy.

Enjoy your vacation MK - sounds wonderful!

Yes, MOWC, beach time all day! What could better than working out in morning, napping on beach all day and then working out again before dinner. It’s a rough life but I’m willing to make the sacrifice.

A treck to the doctor and a prescription for antibiotics and steroids to reduce the inflammation - the doc was concerned that I am almost deaf in that ear from all the puffiness. Ugh. I think I will go easy on the exercise tonight and just do some weights. Had an early start on my 20-20 pushups streak.

Oh no Bunsen. That sounds uncomfortable!

Thanks, MOfWC. It is not painful but very, very annoying! Mr. usually sits to the right at the dining table and likes to read snippets of the morning news to me. And my right ear is so plugged I can’t hear what he is saying!

Hopefully the meds will do the trick quickly BB. Feel better!

Sending get well wishes, bb.

Bunsen, I hope you are hearing better soon and so glad it’s not painful.

Mr. Sabaray returned last night from visiting family but before he got home I purged the refrigerator of all the remaining holiday treats and got in a trip to Costco. We are now ready to start 2016 on the right foot! I just need to survive the last day of 2015 at work - always a fun one!

Well, broke the plateau. Slow but steady. Goal is BOTH toning and weight loss. Generally back to a healthier lifestyle.

Glad you broke through, jym!

Having WildChild home is ridiculous. He simply inhales food! He’s had such a bad cold that he hasn’t been training at his usual level (did have a long run and a 90 mile bike ride- but failed at his mountain biking because everything is a mud pit around here) but he is still eating huge quantities of food. I think he could benefit from cleaning up his eating- he’s really lean, but the c$aP he is ingesting is not good. Pie for breakfast, bottled Starbucks frappachinos, Gatorade… He needs to get with Michael back in Philadelphia.

Trash day is today and I dumped a lot of the holiday food. There was stuff no one was really eating and I just didn’t want it around.

4.5 miles- started out with my husband and he turned at 1.6 for his 3.2. Last run of the year.

146.7 for December. 1656.8 for 2015 My streak is at 180 days (ave 4.8 miles a day).

I’m not thrilled with not having an even number for either December or 2015, but not upset enough to go do more!

My longest streak remains 960 days and ended 5/19/2014 with a stress fracture.

Congrats, MOfWC! What a great way to finish the year.

Those are incredible numbers, MOWC. That is dedication.

Did weight training 5:30-6:30 then met a friend for barre class 8-9. Michael, I am interested in your professional take on barre vs yoga vs reformer Pilates, as I like all three but for different reasons. what do you think of all of the standing on tiptoe at barre class? My legs start to cramp and I have to periodically stop and shake it off.

Skipped treadmill this AM . Had errands to run before work ( yeah I’m at work and waiting for someone to tell us to go home). Took a half hour brisk walk at lunch so that’s something.

Happy New Year, all.

The DD’s and I walked around the zoo for 2+ hours yesterday, then today walked about 4 miles with just a few 30-sec runs mixed in. Legs are feeling good, but I don’t want to rush it!
