So BB, I know I must have missed it in prior posts, but what is your 20/20 push-up challenge?
Good job, Bunsen!
3.1 on the basement dreadmill this morning because it was 12 degrees outside (windchill of 2) and it just wasnāt going to happen- no matter how many warm Lululemon things I have. Later in the day I could handle it, but not at 6 am.
I finished the first week of my training plan for running. I have so far to go! Today was a hill workout - gradually increasing to 12% slope on the treadmill. Whew! Makes me realize Iām not back in shape yet! But it feels good to work that hard. Iāve lost two pounds the last week. Many more to go!
Good job, ML! I know itās hard, but the rewards are worth it!
I have a really hard time getting up early to drive to the gym and use the treadmill. So, I didnāt today. I have a Pilates class this afternoon - am curious to see if I find it easier without running in the am. This morning was a pup walk - 2 miles which we all enjoyed. It was cold, though!
20/20 - is just a code word for beginning the day with 20 pushups (feet on bed) as soon as I roll out of bed and ending the day with another 20 no matter what else I did during the day - every day in 2016. So far, so good.
sabaray- That was exactly my problem! And going after work to the gym for the treadmill was bad, too. The gym was warmer than I like for treadmill and I just never felt like doing it. Good job getting out in the cold for the pup walk!
I am doing badly with sugar and have to get that reversed, because I really donāt feel great when I am eating this much sugar. Total food fail lately.
We recently lost a senior executive here at the shop, and I convinced my boss (very fit but with some occasional back issues) to snag the guyās stand up VariDesk like mine. He did. Now I have to remind him to get a mat to stand on. The concrete/carpeted floors are killer without a mat of some sort.
Thatās awesome! ^^^ I have been doing 20 push ups most nights - and Iām finding that I can now do 20 without stopping instead of 10/10 - so will maybe bump it up a bit!
Itās FRIGID. The sun is out and it so makes me want to go outside (off today) but the air temperature has RISEN to 8 but the wind chill is -10. No thanks. Heading out for some errands and a stop at the gym.
IMO, when the thermometer enters territory that is quite subpar for YOUR area, that is too cold! So be it zero, 10, 20 or 30 - and itās unusual for your area - itās too dang cold!!!
I like that we have 4 seasons, and I donāt complain much about our weather, but abasket is right- it is quite a shock when we get into low teens or single digits here.
Pilates reformer class and DaVinci Body Board class in the books.
Where are you, Abasket? Are you in Michigan?
Here, cold weather usually means damp and rainy, so that makes running not very pleasant. MOfWC was smart to get her treadmill - easier to pick the lesser of the two evils.
I need to get our eating straightened out because Mr. has been eating too many meals out lately (all work/travel events!). I told him I do not want to buy him a whole new set of clothes and threatened to take him shopping if he gains another pound. The threat worked - he hates shopping and trying on clothes with a passion. Also, need to sign up for a race that would require training, so my support team would have to get on his bike for longer than 30-45 min.
Weāve got the same frigid weather as abasket so no outside running today. I did a workout with my trainer at the gym this morning and stayed and did 6 miles on the treadmill. It is so much harder to get the miles in on the treadmill than running on the trail! I will venture out at some point and take the dog for a walk, but it will just be a couple miles in this cold.
Stay warm everybody!
PG, Iām in northwest Ohio - itās the kind of weather Iām not comfortable even taking the dog out for more than 15 minutes at a time! The wind has picked up too this afternoon.
Did hit the gym. Glad it was open but boy was it NOT busy. Could count the people on one hand when I first started out on the track. Less than two hands worth when I left - surprised! Iām thinking a lot of people didnāt realize it was open (the rest of the campus was closed).
4 miles on track/treadmill and some rowing time. Good day.
Treadmill at home this AM, then yoga class. I usually go in the evening, but Iām off today. And the wind chill was +6 degrees and I really donāt want to leave the house after the sun goes down and it gets even colder. The class was packed.
Iām contemplating going to a hot yoga (or at least warm - I donāt do well with the super-hot stuff) and frankly itās mostly because I want to lie in a nice heated room for 30 minutes prior, and doze off after!!
Didnāt you do classes this morning PG? How about a nice long hot shower!? That will do the trick!
I did but now I feel rested and refreshed! Iām still trying to work through this ādo I group classes together in the morning or spread them out morning and late afternoonā gig as I get closer to full retirement.
Last full day of frigid cold. Tomorrow I return to warmer home. Can. Not. Wait. The x-country skiing, hiking, walking, running, and even shoveling (kind of, sort of) have all been great; this morning, however, at -2 degrees with wind chills making it gosh darned mind numbing freezing, was enough. No formal working out for two days. Iām cold and cranky
I got another cross country skiing day on Saturday. Although the snow was a bit icier than it was the first time out, it was really fun and such an excellent cardio workout.
Gym for me todayātemp was 18 this morning with a few inches of new snow. Did 3 miles (walking) on the treadmillā60 minutes and then 25 minutes on the Cybex Arc machine. Then another 20 minutes on the elliptical and 20 pushups. Walked rhe puppy this pm for 1/2 mile.
