Diet/Exercise/Health/Wellness Support Thread

CD, why would not you wear your Keens for everyday walking? Too casual? Too colorful? Not enough color?

"I have found if I tell you all what I plan to do or how close I am to doing it - it’s much more likely that it will happen. "

So true, sabaray!

OK, guys, you might want to skip what follows. I peeked into the bigger Lulu store in my neck of the woods, and they had a new shipment of running bras! Finally, they re-released the Stuff Your Bra bra. It has a new name because the construction of the pockets is different. It is called Rack Pack bra! Although it is “medium support,” it packs the goods pretty well and should be adequate to eliminate the jitterboob effect! I got size 6 (could have gone with 4)

Another question- my PT recommended trying to find a salt water pool to swim in for my joints. I already sent off an email to my local arthritis foundation asking if they had a list of such pools (PT’s suggestions) but I’m curious as to whether or not anyone’s used them and whether they are easier on your body. (I’ve only swam in the ocean maybe 10 times… I’m a fresh water gal  ).

Romani, salt water is denser than fresh water, therefore, your body will have more buoyancy and will float easier; some say that swimming in the ocean takes less effort than swimming in a lake. It is like an AlterG for swimmers.

Bunsen- I got that new bra in a 6 and couldn’t breathe! Went up to 8. You must have a tiny rib cage!

Most salt water pools have a low salt content- so no noticeable bouyancy help unless it’s a therapy pool.

Romani - have you looked into isolation flotation tanks? They are salt water and I know that some folks use for therapy. Also have you ever looked into cryotherapy? A lot of pro and college teams have them now. I go once a month whenever I’m feeling sore and achy. 3 minutes at -245 degrees. Feel like a million bucks once I warmup. Kind of a euphoric feeling.

Lord, I wonder if they even make a bra that would fit me!

Went to spin class this morning, and I think Michael would have approved. Instructor took us through our countryside - so you knew exactly what you were headed for. No weights or disco dancing. Just a ride. It was nice for a change (it’s rainy here today) but I don’t know that I’ll be doing it regularly.

And…drum roll please…

5 pound party. It’s been a while and I’ve been plateaued but a drastic reduction in carbs has had a noticeable effect. Yay.

Party!!!

Shaking and blowing the noisemakers!!! Congrats Sabaray! Spin might have sweated an extra 1/4 pound off ya!

I love the look of that bra!

Woot woot! Party for sabaray! Sounds like a great spin class without any gimmicks.

Nice bra. I really like the jungle wave blue color combo.

3 mile run this morning. It was in the low 60’s but hu-mid. It’s supposed to rain off and on all day as well. Glad I got out when I did.

Hooray for sabaray! Great job on your 5 lb loss!!!

Woo hoo!!! Party party party - congrats Sabaray!!

Yay Sabaray!

3 early treadmill miles before flight to California.

It’s our 32nd wedding anniversary!

You must have been a child bride, MOWC!

LOL, sabaray, glad I have not poured myself coffee yet! It would have been all over my keyboard! Good one.

And congrats on the 5 lb! <:-P <:-P <:-P

Happy anniversary, MOfWC! And safe travels.

I haven’t gained a pound in a week! In fact, I’m down 1.3!!!

This is the first time since beginning the devil drug (Prednisone) that I’ve had a net gain in weight week!

“Bunsen- I got that new bra in a 6 and couldn’t breathe! Went up to 8. You must have a tiny rib cage!”

I just have to have them really, really tight, otherwise, it ain’t gonna look and feel pretty while I run! Most importantly, what color(s) did you get? I got a boring black one and a white with black patterns. And grabbed a pair of matching shorts.

It is a gorgeous morning here in my neck of the woods! I hoped to get home early enough for a run, but just found out that my study buddy wanted to meet to discuss the project. Sigh.

Forgot to post yesterday … I ran 5 miles, and discovered when I got home it was National Walking Day! I guess that means I’ll have to walk on National Running Day, which is June 1. (I know you all will be adding that to your calendars posthaste!) It was a very tough run, for reasons I don’t understand. I’m still feeling as if I have a “hitch” in my gait when I run or walk, mostly on my right side. I’m trying to stretch more.

Today was 45 minutes on the Arc plus 1+ miles fast walking. ALSO, today I’m celebrating two 5 lb. parties!!! Woot, woot!! This was a long, tough haul, but I’m pretty pumped. I haven’t seen this weight in over a year. 7 more lbs. to my goal. (The partying does make me think of iDad … sigh…)

Congrats to you, too, @sabaray.

The 5 inches of snow is gone – now we’re on to rain + wind. #WhereIsSpring

CBBBlinker, wooooooooot! Congrats x 2!! <:-P <:-P <:-P
