There is nothing wrong with taking a sick day, Pizzagirl! Your exercise classmates will thank you for not bringing your cold bugs to the class.
Rest and fluids.
@sabaray, that’s what I really love about Pilates, how the concepts of body position, alignment and movement are so nuanced. Some of my certifications are in postural assessment and kinetic chain mobility and stability training and I have found that there is so much I’ve learned from the Pilates 1 on 1 training sessions I’ve done. The good Pilates instructors have such a perceptive eye and have helped me make so many adjustments I never would have caught.
Attention, Lulu shoppers. I just popped into the downtown store and saw a bunchload of discounted stuff, including the two colors of the bra with pockets: orange and berry-colored. $44, originally $58. I’ll take that!
Thanks, Bunsen. I’m going to check out the website and our local store.
Here is a great piece by Kristin Armstrong. I tell myself this all the time about races- My goal is to START! The rest takes care of itself.

The bras are already in the WMTM section on their site! I got the berry colored (or whatever it is called).
Great article, MOfWC. My goal for every workout will be: put the freakin’ shoes on!
Noooooooo I got my first mosquito bite of the season :(. I hate mosquito bites… I always react to them so poorly. (Which it just occurred to me is probably part of the Lupus since it’s the Lupus that makes my skin react to everything else.)
But I got out there. Another 20 minutes. It actually felt more difficult to move this time. My muscles are probably a little sore/stiff but I can’t feel it over all the pain meds. I just have to be careful not to push myself beyond anything my body is ready is for
Feel better PG. Besides needing a healing break, you deserve some time off.
Yes to getting the shoes on and getting out the door–the hardest steps. Thanks for the reminder, MoWC.
It’s been a walking day, again, and like pizzagirl and many others have been doing, following the news about Prince and listening to old tunes.
Not in my size in the purple. Boo.
Sorry you are sick, pizzagirl. Enjoy the brief downtime.
Glad you got out there, Romani, but eww on the bite.
Rats. I did not see any size 8 in the store. There was a whole bunch of running skirts and shorts in size 10 for $38, but those would fall off my butt even if I tried to tie the belt strings really tight.
Went and brought back the garbage cans, one by one - a 1,000 step exercise. Mr. will be sad that I stole his steps and stairs!
Gorgeous day here and I rode 12 miles to a coffee shop with a friend and then twelve miles home (including up that bleeping hill and encouraging said friend, who rode up it without stopping for her first time), got off the bike, put on my running shoes, and did a 2.5 mile run with the dog. I think I might actually be okay for my sprint triathlon in 16 days. I’ve been training hard but the bike-to-run thing is challenging.
"It hit 80 degrees here, again! What is going on?! This heat is not helping me with doing my class assignments.
A random discovery on the web. This is looks like the coolest run - ever! A 10k with a big chunk run inside the longest wine cellar on the planet, with wine tasting at the finish"
Another beautiful day here again. Was expecting rain, but it was wonderful. Went on a run, rock climbing, then stair clumbing. I feel good, so it must be time to go back to work and feel crappy again.
Checked out that wine run. Looked completely awesome till I noticed it was in Eastern Europe in January. Brrr… might need some of that wine before the run!

Can’t wait to hear how this goes for you!
Got this in an email from Fitbit:
https://blog.fitbit.com/how-tidying-up-around-the-house-can-help-you-lose-weight/
A hint that my house needs some tidying up? ![]()
I got that email as well, Bunsen - and my house DEFINITELY needs some tidying up! I’d rather go to circuit class this morning, though!
I didn’t get that email - Fitbit likely knows I would say “no way!”
Going out to run/walk intervals.
That article actually has some good tips, BB. But talk about clutter, yikes!! I’m in trouble :).
I need help with inner thighs. Ok…something is weird going on with my weight and I think I know the problem. We all know how our bodies respond to diet, exercise, etc. In December I started on a beta blocker. By the end of February I had gained wait in my abdominal area and over towards the sides I’ve never had. I didn’t put 2 and 2 together yet. I started on a good diet for my pre diabetes and exercising more, including weights and body resistance. I cam here for help. After 6 weeks I noticed not only was there minimal change, but I felt like I was actually gaining weight.
I started reading up and sure enough the meds I was on can cause weight gain. I had my doctor stitch about 10 days ago to a newer one that doesn’t typically have that issue, so hopefully in the next 2 months I will feel more like myself…hopefully better since I’ve incorporated toning exercises…which I can see the results now.
One pkace that I have gained some fat which is weird is my inner thighs. For the past 6 months I’ve been doing exercises to hone that muscle…but I never had extra fat …so now I do. Ugh. What is good for that? My DH says riding the bike, but isn’t that for upper thighs? I just hate these meds and what they are doing to me. No one else can tell, but I sure can. I absolutely am not ready for bathing suit season.
Getting out there is great, romani!
Feel better, pg.
So I went to do intervals and my phone battery was dead. Six months ago I would have bagged the workout, but I went out anyway and walked/ran sans timer. I’m sure my intervals were not exactly timed right, but so what?
