Clearly you need to drink more beer, Ohio!
Well, now you tell me Nordstrom Rack
I was at the regular Nordstrom!
Ohio, it is just a general estimator for an average runner. I guarantee that you are an outlier. Keep on training and perfecting your execution and technique!
Remember, you only need to be faster than the fastest runner in your age group to win the gold, and those dudes are not getting any younger either.
Pizzagirl, Zella is a house brand of Nordie’s. They really hit the gold mine with it, because the quality is really good and the pieces are functional. Rack is where the unsold stuff goes, and they possibly make a few things for the Rack specifically.
Thanks - did not know that! I just assumed it was a brand-brand.
Yeah, be sure to check at The Rack - I see Zella - lots - every time I go! Didn’t know it was a Nordie brand.
I had a checkup with the dermatologist today. I left with a new hat by coolibar
I went to Trader Joes and bought a Ritter Sport chocolate bar (that must be healthy, right?).
I ran/walked 4 miles this morning.
I signed up for a half marathon late next fall in Florida. HANDS SHAKING!
Yay!!! Go PlantMom - I’m so excited for you!
Yay Plantmom! Flat, right?
I am positive you can do a half!
I ran walked for 36 minutes today. No pain, I am very happy. Just a little muscle soreness.
Bil is about the same, maybe a bit better. Still on a ventilator. He’s a fighter.
It made me feel better to post an update.
See, Plantmom? So much fun you couldn’t help yourself!
Continued best wishes to your BIL / family, deb922.
I’ve been wondering Deb922. Hoping he gets stronger each day. Waiting is hard.
Wow, Plantmom look at you! I will watch your training from afar.
Just completed a 3.5 mile run. And I’m going to be honest, as I ran, I thought, running 3-5 miles is good enough for me. Really. I just don’t have the interest to do more than that. I like to do other things. Other exercise activities and just keeping active - I"m never been one to sit around except for a short time in the evening. And life is busy enough for me. I’m comfortable where I’m at.
abasket, it should always be about what you enjoy! I wish I enjoyed half the things you did - like gardening! My yard really needs me to love gardening!
PlantMom, I’m so excited for you. Deb, I will keep thinking good thoughts for your family. Thank you for updating us.
My short run this morning and 2 pup walks is going to be it for today. Dinner for me was a lavash wrap with chicken. Nothing “gourmet” tonight!
Did my 3 mile run/walk this AM. Low techie that I am, I set the intervals wrong and ended up with the walk times being shorter than they should have been. So I inadvertently made it more challenging.
Thinking of you and yours, deb922. So difficult.
Keep up the Plated reports, sabaray. I think the program, with the quality ingredients, simple menus, convenient delivery, is such a good idea. I’m kind of surprised they’d put a risotto on the menu, just because it can be a little finicky. We used to have it fairly frequently, back when I had “stirring help” at home.
See what this thread has done to me
It has been life changing, for sure. There is no way I’d be doing this without you all! I signed up in the spirit of seizing the opportunity for the late blooming geezer athletes, stretching my empty nester limits, creating a new fitness goal, (and getting a pretty medal and pin)! The course will be Florida flat which is a very very good thing. The weather is the wildcard. Fingers crossed for no hurricanes, tropical storms, unusual heat waves, etc., etc. Now, just seven months to keep myself uninjured.
The journey of this thread and the people on it - fabulous!
Just got my 6th pair of adidas adios running shoes. Switched to adidas 6 years ago after years of Nike Asics and Mizunos. 1st Real pair of running shoes freshman year HS were Onistuka Tigers (Blue Ribbon Sports) which I think became Asics.
My first running shoes were Tigers, too.
