That outfit was completely appropriate and cute too!

To be fair, it seems men have been ejected from the gym as well based upon their attire. I hate to generalize, but I am guessing the “manager” is local to the area (rural and poor) and may not have a good understanding of what gym attire poses a risk (catches on equipment, etc.) or how MRSA, etc. is spread. I think there is more to this story than what was represented on yahoo.

Hill workout this morning, drizzly and humid but nice to get out there. Bunsen, I got an email that my shorts shipped!

Remind me what shorts?

3.3 miles this morning. It rained overnight so it was pretty humid, but only 63 degrees.

Seawheeze shorts!

Just got my email, sabaray! Lol. The color is “secret society Tofino.” Teal and black. Sounds great to me!

Now I need to find some time to get off my butt and train hard for this event. I do not want to be thought about as one of those who were in it just for the shorts.

I’m jealous. Would love to do that race!

I wonder if it’s bad form to wear the shorts during the race. I’m hoping to come up with some significant time improvements over my last few feeble efforts.

Haha, I will be thinking about Bunsen and sabaray and their “secret society”! Remind me when your race is?

I had an easy 3 mile run with the running club last night and a good dinner with the group afterwards. I’ll be out of town on Friday, so I ran with Back on My Feet this morning. This was the first time I did the Wednesday run with the group and it was fun. I did 5.25 miles, the last mile was at a 7:49 pace - one of the members challenged me to keep up with him. He’s an older guy and he was teasing, but I took him up on it and took off. He really pushed it and that last mile was a killer for him, but you can’t believe how proud he was of it! It was a fun time!

Update on the cheating triathlete we discussed a few weeks ago:

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/28/sports/julie-miller-ironman-video-offers-proof-that-disqualified-triathlete-cut-course.html

Very cute top. wow.
At my gym, there is a young lady who wears what is basically a two piece swim suit every time. I don’t care, but I imagine it’s distracting for the men. Oh well, they have to find a way to ignore her, I guess. concentrate, concentrate, don’t look, don’t look. LOL.
Doing a Google search brought up a Sexy Workout Clothes link. I mean, who does that? Ugh.
But the top cited here is in no way like that, at all. It’s very cute.

Maybe I’m in the minority but even if there was a buff guy in a speedo working out at my gym, I would not be that distracted - for a moment maybe, but I just don’t get it if you can’t move your eyes elsewhere! Focus, people, focus!

Wow, sabaray. That was quite a nice rest. I am really mad at such people - they steal from the real winners, and it takes enormous work to prove their lying. Someone had to look through that video almost frame by frame to make sure she was not in it. Grr.

There was an article linked under the sabaray’s link that caught my eye. The question frequently comes up here: how slow will I get as I age. This article addresses the issue:

http://mobile.nytimes.com/2016/04/27/sports/aging-runners-find-help-for-a-question-how-slow-will-i-get.html

And here is the direct link to the calculator linked within the article:

Ah, don’t you love it when Econ profs got involved in modeling athletic performance?

I was just looking at that article too! I guess the Olympics are definitely out of the question for me now. Ohio, is there a Senior Olympics marathon?

Not the clothing aficionado that BB and MOWC are, but did want to share - I was in need of new workout bottoms. I prefer capri length and always want what I wear to have some sort of tie at the waist - I don’t like yoga pants that don’t have a tie. My usual default is Nike DriFit capris but there’s only so much of that I can wear. I found Zella brand and bought 3 different bottoms at various lengths - good price, and super flattering which is always good!

Nordstrom Rack carries lots of the Zella brand. (not sure where you got yours!)

No marathon in senior olympics. They have both a 5k and 10k road race. Longest track event is 1500 meters. They also have a triathlon now. You can’t have old people running marathons!

Someone sent me that article and calculator- but it just calculates for men. Women slow down even more than men.

The problem with exposing the cheaters is that it has gotten a little out of control, and now people who legitimately qualified for Boston but had a bad day (heat) feel the need to “prove” that they did legitimately qualify! It’s now the marathon police! I hate the cheating, though, and I busted someone in 2010 Las Vegas Marathon. I contacted her on facebook and told her to take down her brags about her time. She did. I also reported her.

“The problem with exposing the cheaters is that it has gotten a little out of control, and now people who legitimately qualified for Boston but had a bad day (heat) feel the need to “prove” that they did legitimately qualify.”

This. Cheaters hurt everyone.

Thanks to Bunsen I am now thoroughly depressed. I inputted my fastest 800 meter time. I am 5 seconds slower than what I should be. Need to up my game. 2x daily? Reduce work or family commitments? Somethings gotta change!
