That Chicago run…wow, my running buddy in Chicago would do that in a heartbeat with me - I’ll be seeing her next week, I’ll have to see if she knows about it. She’d be ALL about couches and cake!

I would totally do it if I didn’t have two other races already planned. It looks like there’s going to be one in Las Vegas, too - I might have to add that to my bucket list!

I had a good session with my trainer tonight but I sure feel it in my legs: quads, hamstrings, glutes - they all hurt! I can only imagine what I’ll feel like tomorrow and then Saturday!

Pizzagirl -I absolutely love gazpacho! Can’t wait for my tomatoes to ripen!

abasket - so funny to read about your son and his wife! For so long it was all about the upcoming wedding! I hope the pictures are fabulous!

Long day of traveling but home again. It’s hot, too hot–96 degrees when I got off the plane. Gazpacho sounds perfect! I had guacamole today at ORD’s Frontera after a fruitless attempt at a Global Entry walk-in interview. Good food, bad luck on the interview. I just barely eked out 10,000 steps for the day.

Sorry to hear you wasted a chunk of your day, PlantMom.

My Instapot is being held hostage inside a UPS truck. Maybe the driver got mad at me for ordering 42 pounds of cat litter!!!

I am well qualified to do 5k to Couch. I don’t wish to brag, but I could beat you all there in record time!!

So I was at PT today and was essentially released. Told to work back into squats and deadlifts and to come back in next Friday for final check and discharge. All within my game plan of 5 sessions, lol.

To celebrate, I decided to do a ride on my cross bike on a paved trail in a nearby park system that gives you about 13 miles in each direction in the woods. The front tire on the cross bike had flatted and I hadn’t had time to change the tube so because it was going to be a ride on a paved path, I swapped out the cross wheels and tires (38 mm knobbies) for heavy duty road wheels and tires (28 mm smoother tires). Quarter of a way into the ride, I came around a curve and the path was slimed and slippery from all the rain and humidity. The front wheel slid out from under me and I crashed hard, landing on my left hip. I picked my self up, washed off all my abrasions with a water bottle, did an eval on my hip and since nothing seemed broken, my training partner and I took off and completed the ride. Fortunately, she was able to avoid running me over while I was sprawled on the ground!

I got home, showered, and trained two clients. I am now sitting at home with my left hip/flank swollen to the size of half a large grapefruit. I still don’t think anything is broken since I have full mobility and weight bearing without pain beyond the abrasions and contusions. I have meetings tomorrow I need to drive to and sitting in a car is going to be a treat. But at least I got my ride in, lol. My wife, of course, called me an idiot for not coming straight home after the crash and is now calling me Krash Katz. She has volunteered to wash out my abrasions again with a nylon pot scrubber.

Ouch, Michael!!! Watch that hip! Fingers crossed nothing more than a bruise.

Oh, Michael! What bad luck! I hope it settles down. I bet it will be sore tomorrow.

Oh no! Feel better.

Thank you all. My wife is putting Second Skin bandages on me. We used to buy it by the case :).

@MichaelNKat – ouch! Hope you heal quickly.

Thanks dmd77!

I got stuck in the aftermath of a bad rollover accident and was late to pick up niece. She hinted that she was dying from hunger, and we hit the closest place, which happened to be a Red Robin. I had NO idea Red Robin served bunless burgers! Burger patty with a smudge of guacamole, a slice of bacon, some red onion, a generous tomato slice, all wrapped into a crispy iceberg lettuce leaf. So good, and I did not feel guilty about throwing away the bun, which I always do. Under 500 calories dinner. Yay. Niece ate some sort of a burger and a bunch of fries.

Michael, I hope this morning finds you feeling sort of okay! I think we need to wrap you in bubble wrap.

Bunsen, you have far more self-control than I do. I could not throw away the bun and I could not say no to fries!

Michael - hope you heal. Yesterday must have been a bad day for cyclists. Saw a couple crashes watching the Tour. Can’t believe the spectators. I would lose my mind.

Speaking of the Instapot - my wife is NOT happy on this latest impulse purchase of mine. She says I might as well return it when it arrives today because she won’t use it and she is POSITIVE that I won’t use it. She is adamant that it won’t get coveted counter space-- it will be relegated to the kitchen cabinet with the bread maker. This thread has caused marital discord!

If it’s any consolation, Mr. Sabaray had a similar reaction to the Instapot. “What do we need that for?” I plan on using it a lot as a result

This morning’s workout was tough - only thing I really couldn’t do was Prone II which is so difficult on a good day, much less after a long Pilates layoff. Now off to work and then it’s the weekend! D is coming for a visit and we’ll be going to a fun Barre class tomorrow - this is the one that’s followed by beer to make you forget how badly it hurt!

Now wait Ohio- you need to prove your wife wrong - see if you can churn out a delicious meal from that pot this weekend! We’re told you need to name your pot - maybe if you do that, your wife will mellow out about it.

Hoping MK’s is not cussing his hip out today! Ouch!

Hope your hip feels better soon, MNK.

Ran just under 4 miles this AM. I have increased my running interval times this week. In an other week or two the plan is to decrease the walking interval times. I could do without the heat and humidity.

I discussed the Instapot with my husband. He likes gadgets. I’m still thinking about it. He’s the cook.
