3 mile walk this AM. I felt good and did not get winded. My official diagnosis is pneumonia but I feel stronger every day.

Wow FallGirl this illness was a whopper for you! But 3 miles is not shabby in the least, so you must be gaining strength - please take care!

Hoping things cool down after today - you can almost cut the air with a knife its so thick out there. :frowning:

Glad you got the 3 miles in, FallGirl!

Hi to Sabaray in Vancouver! Enjoy all the Lulu stuff and the beautiful city!

School started back a week ago here, believe it or not, so traffic (even on my early morning runs) has increased and I get to run by the bus stops with lots of kids and parents in my sports bra. Oh well.

I had a nice 3 mile run yesterday evening. Our power went out, so there wasn’t much else to do! I’ve got one more half marathon to do on August 21 then I will take a break from races for a little while. I really signed up for too many. I have learned I am not a fan of long runs in the summer, so no more summer halfs! Even if they do start at 6:30 AM, the earliest I can hope to be done is 9:00 & it’s already steamy by then.

Glad you’re on the mend, FallGirl!

It is beautiful here but I am not cool enough to live out here! Very tight connections yesterday due to a late arriving flight that was further delayed due to Air Force Ones arrival. But we made it! Delicious salmon dinner last night. I’m exhausted from travel but I just need to do the best I’m capable of at this point.

I love the visuals of the bus stop! Does it make you run any faster?

Oh yes it does! I glide by like I’m a Kenyan!

Bus stop acceleration. B-)

Rats, sabaray. Tomorrow is going to be the hottest day of the week according to every site I looked at, but it should be cooler by the water. Thank goodness the run starts early. Have major FUN!!

Loving the stories this morning! Sabaray, you are fully capable. You go out there, run your race and take in the moment that you - the starter of this thread as a non-runner - are now traveling across the country to run a race in beautiful country! - not many people can say that! Go do it!

Last night was a good session with my trainer at the gym. This morning I had a nice 3.3 mile run with Back on My Feet. It was incredibly humid, even at 5:45 am. I am hoping to be able to get a long run in tomorrow morning but thunderstorms are in the forecast for us all weekend. Boo Hiss!

FallGirl - I am so glad to hear that you are feeling stronger!

Gertrude - sorry that you are feeling that you overcommited on the summer races. It’s hard to rein the enthusiasm in sometimes!

sabaray - I hope you have a very fun weekend. Good luck with the race tomorrow!

So glad you’re feeling better, FallGirl. Walking 3 miles after pneumonia is a great accomplishment.

Wishing you the best of luck, Sabaray! You’ve worked so hard and I hope it all pays off with a wonderful, fun, and satisfying run. Go, Sabaray, goooooo!

I ran 5 miles outside this morning. I was slow, but my HR was way up. I’m blaming the heat and humidity

Good luck today sabaray !

I could have kissed the bamboo floor of the yoga studio this morning (if it were sanitary  ). So great to be back practicing. I have lost a bit of core and arm strength, but definitely feel better moving my body.

Can’t wait to hear from sabaray- it’s early out there, though.

8 miles this morning- tough. It was a meetup of our Nashville Oiselle Volee ambassador group. We had 7 women (1 had to cancel and 1 was out of town) and ran 8 miles. My daughter ran 5 with me and then stopped because she has a meeting and is still recovering from the tri. One woman was slow enough for me and we ran together. It was a hilly course and still hot and humid- even with a 6 am start. It was good to meet the women and talk about Oiselle. We had coffee/breakfast afterwards. No one was anywhere near my age, of course. I didn’t carry water because I hate to, and because I thought I would come back by my car when my daughter cut off. I wound up sticking to the planned route and didn’t have water for 8 miles, which is too long for me in this weather.

Yeah, that’s rough w/out water - hope you made up for it at breakfast!

Also positively thinking of Sabaray this morning - wonder what time the gun goes off? Hope she feels our supportive vibes!

Yesterday fully enjoyed some pool time at my brother’s house in Michigan- only way to enjoy 90+ degrees and humidity - on a floating mat! Did channel my inner swimmer and did several rounds of laps - no where near the size of an Olympic pool (haha) but a nice exercise alternative for a change! Figured I totaled about 30 minutes of laps.

I took my Alta off of course before going in the pool. Clearly I never do that during the day because I noted that it recorded that time off of my wrist as a nap! - which didn’t happen!

Sending positive thoughts to Sabaray who must be on the second half of her half! Can’t wait to hear about the race.

Your pool time sounds refreshing, abasket. Our pool is too warm to be any good at cooling off now :frowning: I’ll do a little walking today, but not much more. It’s going to be (another) hot one, up at 95 :frowning:

Hope Sabaray’s run is going well!

So happy to hear that you are doing much better, FallGirl!

Yes! Glad things are so much better Fallgirl!

A question that is tangentially related to health/wellness: what kind of chairs to you all, especially with back or hop issues, have in your living rooms? H and I are about to get rid of the two large couches in our living room and want to replace one of them with reading/tv watching chairs. Any suggestions?
