It sounds like they got booted out of downtown!
I bet it ties up everything!
Tried aqua-jogging today. Ugh. I guess I can get used to it! I need to get a pull buoy to keep my feet from doing whip kicks while I do lap swimming. Baby kidso’s old pull buoy was shredded to pieces by our calico cat. She had a thing for foam (the tortie is bonkers about anything made of silicone and already ate two pairs of heel cups out of kiddo’s shoes! Lol.)
MOfWC, my wild guess is Whistler. Tons of good lodging, not too hot of a destination in the summer. Vancouver can do just fine without a race in August…
Is aqua jogging an approved activity for you BB? Probably at least feels good to get moving!
I needed music for aqua-jogging. I’ve done plenty of it. Do you have the suspension belt? I put my iPod in a baggie under a hat.
abasket, I have no idea, but I figured that any activity that does not hurt is a good thing. I probably will sign up for an aquajogging class when I figure out my fall schedule. I cannot believe school is going to start so soon!!!
Clayton Murphy! Bronze Medal. Didn’t even look tired! He humored our running group during an indoor workout this past winter doing some 200 intervals with us. Great guy.
So cool for you Ohiopublic - you knew him “when”!!!
Very cool, Ohio! I’m going to dive across the line in my next road race like Shaunae Miller in the 400.
I got 2nd at the 2013 Senior Games by 3/100s of a second against a California runner (now a friend!) by turning my shoulder at the finish. I really think this diving could by a game changer if it is truly analyzed as faster.
Clayton won the 1600 at the high school state meet. Only ran 1:54:19 in the 800 in HS.
3.5 miles this morning because I didn’t get up in time to do the planned 4- it felt terrible. Heading for cool, dry weather tomorrow! I did find a quarter, though!
Can you imagine if everyone starts diving across the finish line? They may need to make a rule on that!
I just signed DH and I up to renew our vows at the “run-through wedding” at the Las Vegas Rock & Roll half marathon in November. Everyone’s invited
! He has to sign up for the half to participate in the ceremony - but he just has to make it to Mile 3. I won’t plan to PR at this one - just going to take in the sights!
Cool that you trained with Clayton Moore, Ohio!! Fallgirl–glad to hear you are feeling better and doing yoga again.
I took two weeks of rest–no real workouts or yoga or power walks–just a few leisurely walks with the dog. I figured I would waited for my forehead gash to heal a little more and for my knees, which were scraped and bruised, to stop feeling so sore. I went to a gentle yoga class last evening; it was great to get back. Going to do a 2 mile walk with a friend early this evening.
I’ve enjoyed watching the Olympics–especially women’s gymnastics and track and field.
Last night was a 7.5 mile run in cooler temperatures and it felt much better. It was a light rain throughout the run, but 2 miles from home the tornado sirens started going off. Listening to the sirens for the last 15 minutes sure had me keeping my pace up! The tornadoes were about 10 miles north of us and didn’t touch down and do any substantial damage but I didn’t know that at the time! Tonight should be a nice run, it is still cooler and the rain has let up. Yay!
Bromfield - I am glad you have healed up enough to go to yoga and get back to walking. Are you going to end up with a scar on your forehead?
Gertrude - The “run-through wedding” sounds hilarious! I wish we had a group Facebook page or something to be able to see photos! I’ll bet this will be a pretty fun ceremony!
MOWC - Haha, congrats on your new-found wealth this morning! I hope the cooler temps have made it to you now.
Glad you got home safely, C3 and that you are on the mend Bromfield.
It is hot and humid still in TN, but I head out in the morning for the mountains of Colorado!
Gertrude, I love that you and H are doing the Vegas thing - what a good sport he is!!!
Well, went to the gym for the first time in months - don’t think I"ve been since May - just been doing everything outside. The forecast for today called for lots of rain so I packed my bag and brought it to work with me (where the gym is) . It did rain some, but seems to have stopped but since I had my bag and the time, to the gym I went. Man, I just have NOT missed that boring track! Combined some track miles with some rowing time for a good workout. Next workout is getting D2 ready to go back to school Thursday - so many trips up and down stairs from the house to load the car and then the car to her third floor dorm room!
