Oh no, take care fireandrain.
Oh no fireandrain - feel better.
Ouch! fireandrain - that sounds awful! I hope you’re able to rest this afternoon and that you feel better soon!
Oh my gosh, fireandrain. Could you visit your doctor ASAP? Even if you feel it’s a waste of time, there’s always something else one needs to go for too. With head injuries, I always think of Natalie Wood.
Ouch! Keep an eye on any back pain and do take a close look at that gash to make sure it does not need stitches!
Oh no Fireandrain!!! I’m so glad the initial people helped you out. If it was a hard hit you might want to get it checked out. Did you have a phone with you? I just will not run or walk or bike without my phone. I hope your noggin is ok!
Good job PG jumping right back on the bandwagon! And with that fall weather, don’t forget (if you have the opportunity) to take a walking break at work if that works for your situation. I’m starting to take 20 minutes to walk at lunch time - it’s an extra couple thousand steps and a great mind clearer!!!
So sorry, fireandrain - but with an injury to the head I would go get checked out. What appears relatively minor may not be and better safe than sorry.
Happy Birthday sabaray, hope you had a great day!
Happy Birthday MOWC. Hope you get to play outside!
fireandrain, if you hit your head hard enough to knock you down, I would get checked out by your doctor. Better to be safe. Hope you feel alright.
So sorry that happened, fireandrain! I hope you are ok!
Traveling back to TN from PA. Did get to go to the King of Prussia mall and walk around a little! I’m ready to be home. A deer ran with me for a little bit on my run in the Poconos this morning.
WildChild is talking about doing this ridiculous event called a swim/run or something. His first one is in Virginia in October. You do it with a partner and have to stay together. You have to do both sports in the same gear, which means you swim in your running shoes and wetsuit and run in the wetsuit, too. You swim between islands and run across the islands. I think I’ll pass!
Thanks for all the concern. I’m feeling fine, actually – my head doesn’t even hurt! No headache, no double vision, no nausea. I’ll have my husband look at it when he comes home tonight.
So sorry, fireandrain. I speak from experience (I tripped, fell, and needed a bunch of stitches in my forehead a month ago)–get yourself checked out. Michael’s right–better to be safe and put your mind at ease.
Congrats to all the runners and bike racers. I volunteered to man the water stop for a charity fundraising bike ride (60 miles) on Sunday; the riders inspired me. Got on my bike today and rode 8 miles to a local taco shack (I had a salad!) and back home 8 miles. Yoga tomorrow.
HBD to MOWC and Sabaray.
So I guess he didn’t tell you we were teammates? This is certainly awkward.
Happy Birthday, MOWC and Sabaray!
So last Monday was a terrible day for squats. Two days later I hit a PR and accomplished a major goal for myself: squatting my body weight of 155 lbs.! Then Monday, because I suck at mental math, did a working set at a 135 lbs. when I mistakingly thought it was at 115 lbs. Today I’m able to comfortably work at 135 lbs. I think I’ll try a working set at 155, but I’ll see what my body says.
I am extremely proud of myself and it’s only up from here!
Additionally, I tried and failed at reintroducing avocado in my diet. A shame since it’s a pretty healthy and tasty food. Merp.
15K steps, stair climb and 3 mile run yesterday, 20 mile bike ride today. The 20 miles felt like more, because I had a crappy old bike! However, I don’t really feel like I got a whole lot of exercise either day. I somehow need to push myself to go faster, and I’m not quite sure how to do it. More coffee, maybe?
“The sugar industry paid scientists in the 1960s to play down the link between sugar and heart disease and promote saturated fat as the culprit instead, newly released historical documents show.”
“The documents show that a trade group called the Sugar Research Foundation, known today as the Sugar Association, paid three Harvard scientists the equivalent of about $50,000 in today’s dollars to publish a 1967 review of research on sugar, fat and heart disease. The studies used in the review were handpicked by the sugar group, and the article, which was published in the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine, minimized the link between sugar and heart health and cast aspersions on the role of saturated fat.”
These corrupt people have caused a lot of harm.
Was going to go to a yoga class tonight and am reconsidering - have some pain in my right heel. It’s on the back of the heel, not the bottom of the foot; about an inch up; more towards the outer side of my foot. I have no idea what I did to cause this; I exercised today (two classes), but nothing that was out of the ordinary and I didn’t land on it or twist in any way. I can point my foot / toe just fine; I only feel it if I flex my foot. Bummer. I will be a good girl and stay off it tonight!
When I had pain in my heel, my doc diagnosed me over the phone - plantar fasciitis. Hope that’s not what you’ve got.
