Thank you Bunsen!

Nike just announced that its self-lacing shoes will be in selected stores around Thanksgiving! I am sooo curious. Back to the future, anyone? My favorite movies.

Happy Birthday Michael & deb’s DH!

We’re back home now. My feet are sore from walking all over the city in flip flops! But I logged a lot of miles & hopefully didn’t gain much if any weight despite the food orgy. A day of normal eating today will feel good.

Are you making an appointment, Bunsen? Someone needs to try those out!

Actually, those shoes will look cool with my dorkmobile! B-)

Had a NormaTec compression boot treatment (20 minutes) at chiro today. Free Andy Griffith show in a nice recliner chair included.

Traveling and sightseeing for a week–lots of walking. Came home with a weird pain in the butt (Seriously, not kidding . . .)
No pain shooting down my leg, but definitely minor pain when I move in certain ways. Went to see my trainer today. She thinks pain is Piriformis Syndrome --won’t bore everyone with details.

Anyway, she worked with me (she used to be a physical therapist) and did active release technique–deep tissue manipulation on hip flexors, thigh area. She also used a roller stick, which she thinks is preferable to the foam roller. Afterwards, we spent 45 minutes doing hip opening exercises and some upper body work. Lots of yoga poses help to open up hip muscles too. I have a bunch of exercises to do.

I felt good afterward, so I did 30 minutes on the Cybex arc machine.

Happy Bday M&K. Your Ragnar run sounded like it was tough, but fun, DMD–congratulations on an amazing job. What is a tech compression boot, Ohio?

Glad you feel better Bromfield.

Had a funny thing happen at work. A guy in my office (who is in his late 40’s) and I got talking about benefits of yoga. He said a lot of guys don’t think it will be a challenge because “they see a 60 year old lady practicing”. Hopefully my face gave nothing away because I am only about 8 months away from being that 60 year old lady! I did the smile and nod and figured he must think I am younger than I actually am

Happy Birthday Michael! I hope you have fun today - starting off with sleeping in sounds fabulous. I hope there is a good decadent meal planned in there sometime also.

Welcome Home, Gertrude! What were you thinking walking around the city in flip flops??? I am so unfashionable. If I am doing any walking at all, I am always wearing running shoes or the equivalent.

I’ve gotten some running in this week - 5 miles on Monday, 3.5 on Tuesday, and 5 miles last night. I am still hurting from RAGNAR. No running tonight, instead a session with my trainer at the gym. I may have to modify my planned long run for Saturday.

sabaray - How many weeks out is your MCM? I could look it up, but I’m lazy like that…

OK, I looked it up. It’s much later in October than I thought. It’s only a week before the marathon I’m running in. We can commiserate together!

@Bromfield2 – I think you confused me with c3baker who did ragnar. All I did was some trail running with the dog

^^^ Sorry for the confusion. Congratulations to C3. Trail running with your dog is great DMD–my dog has a mind of her own and rarely stays with me on the trail!

I am having Fitbit issues today–went to sync with my iphone and lost all my data for the week!! Ugh. I have a Charge HR.

@Bromfield2 – if my dog had a choice about it, he’d be off down the trail chasing squirrels. He’s on a leash.

I ended up going to the circuit strength class again tonight - I like it, mainly because you don’t do any exercise for longer than a minute. Warm up, nine exercises for a minute, cardio interval, nine exercises for 30 seconds, stretch. Over and done. Tonight we used the Bosu, TRX and the Pilates magic circle. The only thing I really struggled with was the inverted row on the TRX. I was trying to do too much with my arms and forgot my legs were there to help me!

I’ve really missed running with my group, so plan to join them Saturday except I’m going to start earlier at my snail’s pace - they should catch up at the point I’m able to bump my pace up. This has been a tough week and it’s unfortunate life events are interfering with what should be race specific training this week. I keep telling myself that no one is making me do this, that I can stop anytime, yet I’m still hanging in there. I just don’t know if I’m on track to successfully complete the race or not. I hate feeling uncertain.

Good luck @sabaray. And hugs about your week.

Thank you C3Baker. And congrats on RAGNAR; quite an accomplishment.

Sabaray, tomorrow’s Friday and hopefully you can put this week to rest. Bet you’re enjoy seeing your running buddies on Saturday! I have done some circuit type classes and agree they go pretty quick!

What abasket said! Fingers crossed that better days are ahead, sabaray.

Hang in there sabaray, hope things get back on track.

Thinking of you Sabaray.

I took my camera and walked in the little nature preserve this afternoon. Just me, the plants, a few gopher tortoises, and some bugs. Felt great to relax a bit.

Hugs, Sabaray. Hang tough, which you ARE!
