Same breakfast everyday:
Two eggs mixed with veggies and some sort of meat sausage cookies into an omelette so I eat it on my way to class. Recently found chicken sausage that has maple syrup in it and my morning experience increased tenfold.

It’s that or Greek yogurt and granola.

Yes, I do the same thing. Continuous calorie counting is a task I can’t keep up with. When I switched to healthier eating, I had to put in the initial work of counting and gaining a sense of what foods contribute to what, but now I just go off meals I’ve regularly made.

I fall off the wagon just as anyone else does. I’ve learned not to be hard on myself if I do end up eating 5 cookies! Everyone can gain something from mindfulness. Even if you aren’t perfect, you still gain awareness which I think is important.

Breakfasts at the Sabaray house:

Fiber one muffin with canadian bacon slice, slice of cheddar, sunnyside egg (post run days only)

Fage Total yogurt (whole milk) with berries, banana and 2 tsp raw local honey

Kodiak cakes with butter (I also like the muffin recipe on the box)

I really like going out for brunch on Sundays - shrimp and grits call my name then!

Too late to edit but I don’t eat meat sausage cookies. :))

“…meat sausage cooked into…”

My typing is even worse with this 3D Touch thing.

Spin class at lunch today - only two of us - crazy!

I’m also in the camp of a standard breakfast M-F. A soft boiled egg. Plain Stonyfield whole milk yogurt or Noosa with some fruit and a couple spoons of my homemade granola. Honey if the yogurt is plain. Option 2 (right now in the fall!) is the egg with a sliced apple and 2T crunchy natural PB.

Weekends are for big breakfasts at my house! Only two meals eaten on those days. Typical would be scrambled eggs, 3 “pieces” of bacon (I cut my bacon in half when I buy it at Costco for freezing - so 2 halves = 1 whole slice), a little fruit/yogurt and maybe a slice of good bread I bought at the farmer’s market! Yeah for weekend breakfast!!!

The other new thing for weekend breakfast alternative is a sweet potato “hash” - olive oil in the cast iron skillet with cubed sweet potato, a little kale, a little bacon or ham, onion, dried cherries or cranberries and a dash of honey and coarse salt at the end!

Breakfast is 2 eggs and some fruit. And coffee.

Working long days right now but I run on the treadmill or go to yoga before work. I notice that it I get less tired on the long days.

I was just going to ask where one could find meat sausage cookies - I thought it might be like a scone!

I’m a huge fan of weekend breakfast - those are the days we only have two meals as well, abasket.

In New Zealand, they DO sell savory scones. One day, I had a feta, spinach and whole wheat scone. Righteous!!

That sounds like it might be almost healthy, CD! My personal favorite is one with bacon and cheddar.

For a bunch of “health” nuts, we sure seem to know what tastes good!

^^^ That’s a big part of why we train!

Sabaray, it was incredibly delicious. They are big on natural and organic ingredients, so there is lots of butter. OTOH, 17,000 steps a day with serious incline counteracts some of that!

Banana for breakfast during the weekdays if I have them. I snack on peanut butter during the day and night have two hard boiled eggs and a yogurt for lunch.

Of course, I may get derailed with bagels, donuts that folks bring in. Maybe a snickers bar twice a week.

Count me in as another two-meal Sunday person. Big breakfast, late lunch, and maybe a glass of wine and some cut up veggies at dinnertime.

My go-to breakfast has been the same for years: a cup of yogurt (full fat), a cup of frozen fruit, chia seeds (well, I only started added chia seeds about a year ago), protein powder. Blended.

I managed to coerce myself into a loooooong run today. I started by running the dog his 3.5 miles on my trails, then went home, dropped the dog off, changed into a dry shirt, and drove the car ten minutes to the car dealer for its 60K service… then ran home, which was another 4.5 miles. Yes, I got a short rest in the middle, but I still did the run. And I woke up wanting to do anything BUT a long run.

Sparkle Skirt review: on @GertrudeMcFuzz 's recommendation, I decided to try a Sparkle Skirt. I got the Hiker Chic one, because the shorts are longer. I bought both a medium and a small–their website, going by waist size, suggested a small, but my experience has been that my hips are usually happier when I size up. The small will be used by my daughter and I love the fit of the medium, which is NOT baggy at the waist and merely snug on the hips and thighs. (My waist seems to be smaller than expected by most manufacturers–I take waists in for most of my clothes. Or add a drawstring. Or both.) The length of the shorts is great, and the skirt is long enough to wear pretty much anywhere. The shorts didn’t ride up or down or twist or do anything untoward at all. Love the pockets: plenty of room for my phone and a full set of dog bags and gin-gins (my choice of candy for long runs).

Fitbit Flex 2 review: got my Flex 2 Monday (replacing my One, lost somewhere) and like it. Don’t love it, but I like it. I miss having the vertical counted (but I do get that when I wear my Garmin, so really, I should just get over it). The wrist band annoys me and the actual device itself is so small I’m afraid to pull it out of the wrist band and just shove it in my pocket. I went on Etsy and found someone who makes a custom elastic fabric band for the Flex and ordered one of those to replace the black rubber. I do like the fact that it automatically counts “exercise” if you move in certain ways for enough time. I like this mostly because it now counts my dog walking as “exercise walks” and so I’m suddenly exercising five times a day.

Vanity report: I actually had my eyebrows dyed this morning. They’d gone completely white and that made me feel older than dirt. I was not getting the hang of eyebrow pencil at all, and Sharpie wasn’t at all subtle. I’m pleased with the results.

I’ve just been marking my calendar for the opening dates for registration for two May events. Somehow, this makes me feel like a serious runner. I’ve decided I will register for the Smith Rock Ascent 15 mile trail race… even though it scares me. Maybe because it scares me.

(Clearly I have too much time on my hands today. Hope no one died of boredom in there.)

I’ve been thinking of getting my eyebrows tinted. I workout midday so essentially I’m doing my eyebrows twice a day…three times if I go out in the evening. As much as I love them, I don’t love them THAT much!

Here is an app for those days when you are tired of your gadgets constantly reminding you to get off your butt and move!

Lol.

I have my eyebrows dyed every time I color my hair. If I need something in between times I use the powdered root touch up stuff. It is way better than an eyebrow pencil!

4 miles walking today after my big 9 mile hike yesterday. Still having issues with my achilles tendonitis. Loving my new pair of Hokas. I hate getting old.

@dmd77 - so glad you like the SparkleSkirt. Which print did you get? My run group is having a custom one made to match our group shirts. I’m hoping it comes out attractive - it will be chartreuse with royal blue roadrunners on it, so it could go either way!

Has anyone done an Insane Inflatable 5K? They’re coming to us in March - looks like a ton of fun!

I love the idea of the custom run skirts for your group, gertrude!

Ran a 5k (w/o walking) on the treadmill this AM. Keeps me sane at work.

Good job, FallGirl! That is neat about the custom skirts. In 2010 when our online women’s running group did the Las Vegas Rock n Roll, we had matching skirts but they weren’t custom made.

OMG, Gertrude, I had to look that up. Not what I would call a “run”, but it does look like a lot of goofy fun. Especially like the fact that there is no mud or powdered paint involved.

Great job, FallGirl!
