I think there was one of those inflatable “races” here recently. My participating would be a big “NO” - I just want to stay on my feet and the thought of me on inflatables brings all kinds of uncoordinated thoughts and visions!!!
Hope @PlantMom is OK!
Vinyasa flow today with one of my favorite instructors. 22 days to go–instructor called the yoga challenge a sadhana, which is a way of disciplining yourself.
Plantmom–hope you are safe.
Yes, me too Bunsen. I have family in Jacksonville - they advised yesterday they were expecting to lose power but were hoping to escape the worst of it.
I have a progression run that I’m going to try to do after work today. While I know it could rain on race day, the conditions tomorrow aren’t looking good for a good workout and I need one. Today’s normally a rest day but I think it will be okay.
I found some candy corn here at work. It’s a vegetable right? Does the corn part cancel out the candy part?
Sure, why not MOWC. Just like eating fiber reduces the amount of carbs you eat.
Just eat a tablespoon of soluble cellulose powder with your candy corn, and you are good.
It looks like we have a good group forming for the Inflatable 5K - I think I’ll give it a try! My 2 D’s might be willing to join me on something like this.
My job is coming to an end in January - I’ve started the process of looking for a new one. Interviews make me stress eat!
I’m here. I survived! It was kind of a busy two days of hurricane madness though. We have some panels for windows that get clipped in. I did a bunch of that on my own yesterday, along with making the mad dash for water, gas, and all those things you might need if you lose power. We were lucky that the system moved east out over the ocean by 30 miles, therefore greatly alleviating the worst of the wind and driving rain. We were also under curfew–not even supposed to walk around–although by noon today we were feeling comfortable enough to go outside. No damage, we have power, and are glad this one’s done. We were supposed to head for the beach for a long weekend, but had to scrap that plan. Be safe, anyone who’s north waiting for this storm. There’s no such thing as a good hurricane or tropical storm, and you can never be over-prepared, imo.
Yesterday I also had my podiatrist appointment. I was worried for nothing. The doctor was super nice and confirmed that my toes are just traumatized by so much running and sporting toenails that are apparently too long for my feet with the current level of activity. It was quite strange to have a doctor cut my nails very, very short with some kind of massive, farrier-like trimming tool. I’m not sure I can do this to myself, lol.
Today was supposed to be a running day, but with all the wind and rain it was a no go. Tomorrow, tomorrow…
Very glad to hear you were spared anything too bad Plantmom!
I’m so glad you and your house are ok. St. Augustine looks terrible. Yeah- I keep my toenails very short.
Got 13/14 hours with the 250 steps. Had a sit down lunch and missed that hour since my butt was in a chair. I have an employee who passed the bar (3rd try) and we all went out to celebrate.
Glad no damage your way, PlantMom!
A neighbor refused to put his shutters up. I’m sure I’ll hear about how his windows faired in 130 mph wind.
So happy to hear you are OK, PlantMom. Niquii, glad to see that you are OK, too.
Yesterday I played 18 holes of golf, walking. An absolutely gorgeous October day with 2 of my favorite ladies in the club – and a decent round of golf as well! It’s all good. Also a pup walk after I got back since H didn’t take her. Honestly, he’s the one who needs the walk the most – the pup is naturally active.
Glad to hear those down south are safe! Here at the beach we have hurricane covers for all the windows and doors – we couldn’t have built the house without them. Our insurance won’t cover any damage from a named hurricane if we don’t put them up. So far, knock on wood, we haven’t had to use them.
Keep safe everyone who is in the path of this hurricane! I heard it’s supposed to come north a bit and then double back down south. Hopefully by then it will have lost its strength.
Glad to hear all of our Florida friends are safe!
Sort of got a run in last night - post work running is not my friend! Seven miles before I called it quits. Pouring rain this morning - Mr. Sabaray is giving me a break by taking the pups for their walk.
I keep my toenails very short as well - my feet have taken a real beating this training cycle. Sweaty feet, dry cracked skin - blech. Running is so glamorous! I am going to pick up a pair of Adrenalines today - I’ve been wearing the Transcends almost exclusively and my legs are just not feeling the greatest.
Yes, I’m extremely happy that the storm veered a bit to the east. I was extremely worried and obsessively watching the radar. I’ve seen posts on social media of how some are sad the storm didn’t come more inland, how they were unaffected and saddened by this “weak” storm. This storm has killed over 800 in Haiti and even more in other countries. The destruction is heartbreaking. I’m extremely grateful the worst my family experienced was minimal. I’m hoping there isn’t a Hurricane Matthew 2.0.
Today marks the sixth week I’ve worked out consistently following my workout plan. I don’t know if there’s a shopping bug going around, but I want new workout clothes! I bought a set of four leggings a month or two ago and have been cycling those around. I think I might truly have to invest in a pricey pair because the waist never fits and the hip area gets noticeably more baggy. Does lululemon have sales? Can I even fit their sizes?
Really good 9 mile run. It was a beautiful early fall day (57, clear and breezy) and the leaves are starting to fall. It was 87 here yesterday, so this was a big change. I have felt so crummy all summer, that I’m always apprehensive starting my longer runs, but today went well. I was quite a bit faster than I have been, felt OK through the whole thing and did an extra mile instead of the planned 8. Felt good not to be trashed at the end. It is days and runs like this that cause me to be grateful for my health and ability to run and to thank God for the gifts that I’ve been given.
“Does lululemon have sales? Can I even fit their sizes?”
They have discounted merch intermixed with full-priced stuff hanging on the racks, so you have to keep an eye on those stickers. One caveat: those items are non-refundable. Size-wise… their biggest size is 12, and I think it is a “true” 12.
Niquii, look on the Lulu website for “we made too much”. Lots of bargains there! As Bunsen pointed out, non-refundable, so try some pieces on for size first.
