^^^^I think that’s the yogurt maker I had - Salton.

Yep. https://img0.etsystatic.com/000/0/5266343/il_570xN.177214608.jpg

That’s right! It was a Salton yogurt maker!

CBB- not too far from you. Ft. Myers. My sister has a house there where they stay for the winter. Getting to the beaches can involve a lot of traffic getting over the bridges. I like the flat running in pretty nice neighborhoods.

Finished today’s yoga (slow flow) and headed to the gym for 20 minutes on the stair ladder. Second day on the cleanse–getting tired of herbal tea.

It would not be long before I was tired of herbal tea as well, Bromfield. I have been drinking two cups a day - I like the Yogi “De-Tox” blend and also the “Kava Stress Relief” but I can’t say I ever feel like drinking more than one cup of either daily.

You all are impressive with your homemade yogurts! I’ll have to try it but I’ve been so busy I’m just lucky to get to the store and shop.

Sunday was a rest day for me - ended up doing 5 miles Monday morning and a tough Pilates class in the afternoon - today was some time with the elliptical. I’m really trying to be better with aerobic cross training - I keep reminding myself that not all aerobic exercise needs to be running. Still not sure I believe it, but…

Nothing yesterday due to guests. Today I tried a new class, one that used TRX. Pretty fun. I am sure I will be super sore tomorrow!

Went to Target last night to get yogurt “starter” (plain yogurt) and walked out with a bag full of Noosa that was on sale. My yogurt making experiment has been postponed until the weekend.

^^This is funny!

For Christmas my goddaughter gave me some Yogi tea. Last week I made the Honey Lavender Stress Relief tea as a steamer. DE-licious! Just heat some skim milk, drop your tea bag in and steep. I added a tad of extra honey. Just enough sweet and a good calcium boost. Also good with a cookie, but I didn’t say that…

Hi! What a great way to step back into this thread, with talk of yogurt making and Yogi tea. Yum! I have a yogurt maker that’s been shelved for quite awhile. Maybe I’ll get it down and give that a try again. I’m still involved in maintaining my kefir grains. I’m sort of addicted to having a pick-me-up glass of chocolate milk kefir every day. As for tea, I love, love, love their Soothing Caramel Bedtime tea. So good and it’s finally cool enough here to drink a cup before bedtime. I cannot find it in our Publix stores so I have to order it online–which I just did yesterday after one of my kiddos finished my last box.

My exercising has been in slow gear. I’ve been keeping up with my running, but only at shorter distances of 3-4 miles. The eating went on a big holiday skid but I’m digging my way out of the ditch, gradually. Yesterday I ran 4 miles, today was a long walk, and I splurged on a steak for dinner. H is on his way back from China, and the adult children and guests have vacated the premises.

So happy to have you back PlantMom! I’ll have to look for that tea flavor - I’m all about these tea steamers now!

3 and some change after work. Felt good.

Welcome back, Plantmom! I’m still working on my Trader Joe’s peppermint tea from the holidays. It’s really good.

Welcome back Plantmom!

I have never been diagnosed as lactose intolerant, but have never been able to tolerate milk. I like yogurt, it does not like me. And I really don’t cook so no yogurt making here

I have been working on strength in addition to my usual running and yoga. Thanks to some help here from MNK and Bunsen, I have been working out with some small dumbbells every other day. Taking it slowly to avoid any injuries.

Good to see you back, PlantMom - glad you had such a nice holiday.

FallGirl, you might like a Barre class - we use 2, 3 or 5 pound weights in our classes - you choose what weight is best for you. I usually get two sets - the 2 and 3 pound ones. It’s amazing how quickly your muscles get exhausted with multiple reps of a light weight. The classes are really helping with my balance. I have to laugh - they are “Booty Barre” - I still don’t have much of one. Or at least the kind the classes are designed to help you achieve. :))

I have the day off tomorrow - I really needed a break. Getting my gray hair colored (I suddenly seem to have A LOT OF IT) and doing a Barre class in the afternoon. D is escaping DC (she lives in the City proper) and will be down for the weekend. I’m really impressed with those of you who are marching - I deferred to my family’s wishes and will be sitting this one out.

Track workout at the indoor track with high school team. Bought a beer (bribe) after practice for both coaches with the hope that they’ll continue to let me run with them!

Beer is a good bribe :). Use it with my local bike shop all the time!

Sabaray trying a barre class is on my to do list. And balance is something I am working on as I found out in yoga Very important as we age.

Here’s a fun fact I learned from this morning’s news sunrise stumper- McDonald’s and Burger King both put sugar on their french fries to give them that brown color. Who knew.

Short 3.2 mile run this morning - tackled the hill again, pace continues to improve and average HR is going down, ever so gradually, but it’s going down. I need to force myself to be productive today - I just want to lounge around!

^^Enjoy your day off Sabaray! You can enjoy it AND be productive too - balance.

3.65 miles this morning – felt MUCH better than Monday. Ran a different route, so different scenery + a very interesting podcast about networking.

Not much of a tea fan, at least in the morning – unless there’s absolutely no coffee within a several mile radius! Starting with my first ever cup of coffee, I’ve always had it black. I remember my mother saying if you just start drinking it black, you’ll never be caught without milk and/or sugar – plus it will be no calories. Smart woman.

BIL & SIL arrived from MA yesterday for 3 weeks. Their house, where we’ve often stayed in the past, is about 20 minutes from us. They’re very willing to have us stay there whenever we want, and for as long as we want, but this time we brought the pup. They’ll come hang on the beach with us here.

A 3.3 mile run last night - it was a light rain but VERY windy. I think it will be less windy for tonight’s run.

sabaray - I hope you enjoy your day off and have a good mix of productivity and just plain relaxing!

PlantMom - Yay, welcome back!

ohiopublic - I thought for a moment that you were buying beer for the high schoolers! I’m sure the coaches are happy to have you join them.

Enjoy your day, sabaray. Good work on faster and lower HR! That’s what it’s all about!

3.3 miles outside this morning. Ready for some Florida sunshine.
