MOWC - or you could have your husband drop you off 2 1/2 hours from the house to make sure you don’t bail!

I ran for 30 minutes straight, very slowly! Yay. Then did 1 minute walk/1 minute run for another 25 minutes. It’s a start!

Ohio- I would probably wind up on the interstate! The whole route is 20 miles and it comes to my neighborhood at about 13 so I won’t be too far from the 2 1/2 hours at that point. If I can get off around then it keeps me from running back along a road that isn’t very nice. I don’t mind it in 1 direction, but no need to repeat it!

ML, that’s 10,000 steps, not 10 km! Actually, 10km would be about 15,000 steps…

If I could get out twice a day for 1.5 each, tgata good plan. I usually drop off DH at the Metro (we have three at home, two cars) and then head straight to work. Need to change priorities…

MaineLonghorn - that’s a very good start!

I wanted to do a long run today and ended up doing 12! Haven’t done that in a while. Felt good but I’m ready for a nap.

CD, whew! I always think miles when I see “10k.”

Classof2015, great job! I want to get back to that distance.

Thanks, ML!
Given your running history, I know you can. It took me a solid year to build up some endurance.

I’m kind of glad a new week starts tomorrow because this one has just been a bummer. Signed up for a new class at the studio that is very popular. Mats weren’t spaced correctly as there had been a class in there immediately prior and several students attended both classes - so they had staked out “their” space. I left in the middle of class. I didn’t have space to get into the positions, I was banging into the wall every other move, there were more people in the class than there were supposed to be - I’m really pretty annoyed. I spend over $400 a month there and I sure don’t ask for special treatment, but I’d like equal treatment at a minimum. Grumble. Went to the gym and climbed some hills on the elliptical.

Good job on the running and step counts, everyone. I booked our hotel for vacation this morning - and purposely chose one that doesn’t have a gym. I’m actually going to have a vacation!

Unfortunately I had to put my dog down today. 14 years old and this morning he was at the point where he was stumbling and could barely stand up. Never easy is it. Think it is best and will be better long term for my wife after the initial grief subsides.

Ohio, I am so sorry. Our dog is getting to that point and I am heartbroken. There was a big decline from yesterday to today and we are at my BIL’s. My sweet girl is also 14. We will see how she is over the rest of the weekend and make a decision. They are such a loving part of the family.

So sorry, Ohio. It is never easy. A dog occupies such a special place in our hearts. At 14, you know they have had a good long life, but the longer they are with you, the harder it is, in some ways.

I’m so sorry, Ohio. I’m sure he had a wonderful life with your family. It is NEVER easy. Our two seniors are both over 13. They have such a place in your heart…

My heart is with you and your wife Ohio - that’s a tough day. It’s a pretty day in Ohio to walk over the rainbow bridge. Peace pup.

Went to visit my mom who is still an avid walker. Swimmer too. She walks and swims several days at week still at age 83. Not speedy, but she’s out there. She handed me over something today she found on her walk - I think it’s a FItbit Alta HR! Same thickness as my Alta but the band is a typical watch clasp band. The battery appears to not be charged - and I checked and the charger is different than my regular Alta so I can’t charge it to see if is in working order or not. (did it get rained on? who knows.)

What do you think? If I sent it to Fitbit would they try and connect it with it’s owner??? No chance of finding the owner where my mom found it. Big park in another city.

Sorry about your dog, Ohio. It’s so painful to lose a great pet.

I went to a vinayasa flow yoga class today (it’s a class I just started attending and I really like the instructor). After yoga, I couldn’t start my car. Put the key in the ignition and the key wouldn’t move. Tried it a bunch of times. No luck. My phone had died so I couldn’t call anyone. Walked over to H’s office (4 miles) and called him from there. Luckily I have a key on my key chain. H came over and we drove back to the car–it started right away. I felt like an idiot. It was like the key was stuck in the ignition. Not a good day. I usually feel great after yoga.

My sympathies, @ohiopublic . It’s tough when our dogs get old.

I did a 5k in our local park today–500 feet of elevation gain–downhill start, downhill finish, one long long uphill mile in the middle (from 1.6 miles to about 2.8 miles). To my great glee, I was a minute and a half faster than last year for the same average heart rate.

I’m so sorry to hear about your dog @ohiopublic. It’s hard to lose our furry friends.

I did nothing yesterday as it was day 5 of a 6 day work week with long hours. I did get to early yoga before going in today, but I am wiped out and just want a glass of wine right now.

Tomorrow starts a new and less busy week and I have plans for a long training walk.

@abasket - I would call FitBit (I’ve had pretty good luck reaching them) and ask how you can reunite the Alta with its owner. I’m glad they changed the charger. That might be a reason I upgrade to the HR! However, it’s too bad you can’t charge it and get the serial number etc.

Ohio, I am so sorry. That is hard.

Ran a 10K with S1. I did wear my Garmin, but to see how much further I had to go, not for pacing. It went great. I worried about being too slow or not in good enough shape (very hilly course), but it was fine. And I feel good afterwards, probably better than he does.

Ohio, so sorry about your dog. It is never an easy decision.

Bromfield - it can happen if the steering wheel is turned to one side too much. If it happens again, grab the steering wheel and turn it.

We are digging yet another trench! Well, actually it is a continuation in part of the last one. Mr. just wants a grandiose French drain. Whatever keeps him happy, I guess! Mr. priced a ditchwitch rental at the HD, but decided that he can save $200 and get a good workout at the same time. So here we are…
