Look cool. Have not tried them.
Yes, too cool for me!
Next question - for those of you fitness aficionados who order through a meal delivery service - any experience with Trifecta Nutrition?
Some of my runner friends love Tracksmith. I think it is really good quality. Shocklingly, I haven’t bought anything!
I ordered some SuperFeet low boots. They came last Friday but they were just a tiny bit short and I really needed the 8 instead of 7 1/2. I ALWAYS wear 7 1/2 in street shoes. I sent them back (they paid the postage) and am awaiting the 8s. I think they will be super comfortable and while they have a casual look, I can get by with them for work with dresses and leggings.
I might have to celebrate my next 5 pound party with some new apparel.
Wow, I have lived under a rock. SuperFeet makes shoes now? Awesome.
Sabaray - most definitely! We will get our led lighted party hats etc. ready!
Hi Bunsen. Do you still use your eliptigo? I have given thought to getting one, but so expensive.
@sabaray I have not used Trifecta Nutrition, but please report back if you do. I do use Pete’s Paleo and Ice Age for Paleo meals. Pete’s is almost twice as expensive so I tend to rotate them. Both are very good and filling.
Hi @busyparent! I loved riding it last year. I still have it and plan on using it! I have not done much this summer because we were fixing two houses (one cosmetically to sell, and the other structurally and cosmetically- to move in), and was getting ready for a big exam… plus that darn one pound loss (actually, 1/2 pound according to my hospital bill)… but I will be happy to answer questions. I highly recommend renting one for a few days to see if you like it. I have the Arc… there are some new models there apparently.
Thanks Bunsen. I knew you were busy with the houses and personal ‘fix it’. I never thought about renting one, great idea!
Our Precor stores had them for rent. I am sure you can google where you can rent one in your neck of the woods.
Athletes of the past alway intrigue me. Annette Kellerman was a very remarkable person:

She would have approved of this thread. ![]()
It feels like it’s been a millennium since I’ve been here. So, so much to catch up on. This process of building and opening a boutique fitness facility is not for the faint of heart. Days starting at 5:00 a.m. as a construction manager and ending at 12:00 a.m., fitting in my “day time” job, training clients and trying to fit in my own training in between has been exhausting. The details, the bumps in the road, have at times seemed overwhelming. Everything from unexpected construction issues to business systems, personnel and operations manuals to social media development to programmatic content. But finally, the end is in sight. TRX and bikes are in. Dumbbells and slam balls should be in next week. Final inspections next week. Instructor auditions November 10. And then our soft opening on November 18 with our formal Grand Opening on November 25. It’s been exciting, scary (never conceived of having a mortgage on my house for the first time in 20 years at the age of 64) and exhausting. Has it been worth it? Well time will tell but if our enrollment for the soft opening weekend of November 18 is any indication, we are on the right path - all classes sold out with waiting lists 1/3 class size deep.
The next two months will undoubtedly be equally insane. But if anyone ever finds themselves in Philly, shoot me a PM. It would be a pleasure to treat you to the best damn indoor cycling, TRX Suspension training and functional fitness classes in town :).
Thanks to @BunsenBurner suggestions a long time ago I’m enjoying a delicious Kodiak pancake with almonds, dried cherries and pumpkin - it’s delicious after a 4 mile run!
Thanks BB!
I have a head cold, not feeling so great, it’s grey and chilly…and yet…I got out with the dog and walked a little over miles. So grateful to that little Terrier. So happy that even if you’re not feeling great, one can usually manage a walk.
As much as I love my precious doggies, walking them is a little frustrating. They are both 14 year old Goldens, and getting them around the block is an ordeal. The male stops about every 10 feet to pee on something. The female really runs out of gas, but the walk is good for her. Add in stopping twice to pick up the poop, and it almost seems like negative exercise. I do enjoy my time with them, though.
Hard not to get some daily exercise when you have a pup around. Hope you feel better soon. Head colds are the worst.
Today is a rest day for me. I am learning I really need to pace my workouts and rest is important. Ran a bit over 10 yesterday which I felt pretty good about, until I got home and had to walk the pups. About the last thing I wanted to do! Sunday is meal prep day for me - I try and make several things that will be good during the week and I’m getting tired of the same staples. I wanted to try a new minestrone recipe but as luck would have it, I have almost every kind of bean except cannelloni. I am not going back to the store today, so chili it will be. And flu-fighter chicken stew will occupy the crockpot tomorrow.
I was in tears watching the race.
Pretty awesome! So happy for her.
Awesome!
