Flat butt syndrome is a real thing. I really need to get a new game plan for combating all that sitting.

Good article. Now that I have an office instead of a cubicle (but no windows) in addition to my Fitbit 250 (steps per hour) I will sometimes close my office door and do some stretches. #3 the over head arm reach while standing was recommended at a running clinic to re-align your body during the day or while running (like at a water stop). Or do some jumping jacks in the one stall bathroom. If I donāt do these things my mind vegs out.
Good article. I notice they mentioned yoga, Pilates and Barre - while I hate yoga, Pilates and Barre have been terrific additions to my routine. Iām not running quite as many miles as I used to, but my miles are getting faster over tougher routes. Iām hopeful this trend will continue.
Thanks @Classof2015 . Great article.
It was 27 degrees here this AM, but itās so much fun to run with the womenās running group that I bundled up and went out and ran this morning.
13.7 mile āhalf marathonā this morning. Lots of hills and it was pretty chilly, but a pretty day. Won my age group. Stopped to take some pictures along the way and walked some on the hills. This wasnāt a goal race, but races are hard no matter what.
@sabaray - I thought of you when I read this article - Iām the opposite (donāt like Pilates; like yoga). Iāll try to fit in some sessions.
@FallGirl - thanks and good for you! Something nice about conquering the elements.
@MomofWildChild - wow thatās great - congrats!
Enjoyed reading the article, Sabaray. Many of the moves there are the same or similar to yoga poses. One of the reasons I like yoga is that I feel so good afterwards. I did a pilates mat class that was a fundraiser for a group where I volunteer. I was surprised how much I liked it. I hadnāt taken pilates mat Class in a long time.
So is anyone here planning to run a Turkey Trot on Thursday?
D,SIL, S and Sās friend are running with me.
Me! The Silicon Valley 10K. Running alone though. Iāve got to stay away from squats on Wednesday night, if I want my time to be decent.
Me three! Fun 4 miles that kicks off with the pardoning of a turkey. No joke!
No planned races, but I will kick Mrās butt off the couch to run on the trail!
Probably 4-miler!
Iād love to do a Turkey Trot - but it just never works out on Turkey Day since the day includes a little traveling for us. Have fun for me!!!
Not for me this year. The Monkeys are going to get me today.
No Turkey Trot runs, but planning on a 9 mile hike in the morning. Hoping to convince D1 & D2 to join me.
My 2nd fastest Monkey (after my stellar 4:18 in 2009). 5:03. I expected to be around 5:30, so Iām happy. I raced harder than I planned, but I didnāt fall apart or anything. Itās one of the hardest road marathons in the country. It was chilly and there were a few windy spots. The footing was tricky in a lot of parts with small branches and acorns down on the road due to storms yesterday. I almost fell a couple of times, so I had to be very careful.
Great job @MomofWildChild !
Glad you avoided falling, that sounds like a tough race.
Good job MOWC. I thought you were going to skip it. Great time.
No Turkey Trot for me but I did a 4 mile race today. Made my goal (under 30 minutes). Cold and windy. Iāve been doing more hills and speed Work which I think helped.
I was going to skip it to watch my son try to win. He got injured and is here in a boot with a probable stress fracture. I managed a 15 mile run 2 weeks ago which opened the door for me to do the Monkey, although I was still a head case about it. I decided to make it a social run and really try to back off. That sort of worked- but a marathon is a marathon, and hills are hills. I think I executed the race about perfectly, though. Iām done for quite awhile now.
Wow, MOfWC, you rock!!! Congrats!!!
