Difference between electronic and mail score reports?

Could someone explain what happens and the difference between these two types? Also, if I ordered reports online from the ACT and Collegeboard website, are they electronic? Finally, I didn’t order score reports until a few days ago and it looks like they won’t make the deadline so people are recommending that I email the school that they’ll be late. How valid will that be since the scores I’m sending aren’t from a December test? If anyone has any other advice for me about speeding up score reports or anything related, it would be much appreciated!!

Colleges know score reports trickle in. You’ll be fine – no need to email the schools. Plus, it’s a data dump. They download scores when they want them.

Remember: schools spend tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars to get you and others to apply. They WANT to admit you (and your tuition). They’re not going to erect a tripwire and flush your application away. They’re ecstatic you’re applying.
