Difference between @fas and @college e-mails?

Just curious - want to make one, but would one be more problematic than the other? Can I have both? What is the difference?
Thanks!

Ugh, nevermind. I can't make either - I keep getting this message:
The following error has occurred while attempting to process your information:

ID number not found in accounts database.

Please make sure all your information was entered correctly and try again.

-____- this is so frustrating. tips?

(Oh - do I have to pay my term bill before getting a Harvard account??)

No, I didn't pay anything. Have you set up a PIN yet? That's the only reason I can think of...

As for the difference between the two emails, I was wondering about the same thing and found some useful information on this website:

Urgh. I have the same problem. Bah.

I do indeed have a PIN.
Calico and Sky - how many days ago did you send your "attending" response? I sent mine last Tuesday, so technically the five business days that they tell us to wait have not yet passed. If it isn't working by tomorrow evening, I'm gonna give them a call...

I have a PIN and can't make any email accounts either :( I sent my response on Wednesday, I hope they fix it quickly. I need my Harvard email to apply for FAP

I sent my response the thursday before the last one, so... the 22nd? I guess the server is just too busy today because everyone's trying to set up an account. I tried setting up mine on Saturday (or some other time over the past weekend), and it came through almost immediately.

The class of '13 was the first class to receive the @college emails. We also have an @fas account but all emails to it are automatically forwarded to @college, such that my @fas account is always empty.

My guess it that they are trying to phase out the use of @fas for undergrads, but maybe for simplicity they are waiting until all four years of current students have @college to make the big change.

Speaking of email problems, I just received an email in my @college account that is obviously meant for another person :/.
