Difference between houses and dorms?

I’m really on the differences between houses and dorms at Exeter. I will be a lower when I get there this fall! How do you get sorted into a house?

First, you put on this floppy hat…

Schools use student profiles and legacy preferences to “sort” .

Best advice? Leave it for the school to decide. They have everyone’s profile and they usually get it right.

Just go with it and let it all unfold… that way you won’t be disappointed if or when your requests ( for a house/ dorm or a single ) are denied.

At some schools, houses are groups of dorms plus day students that compete with each other.

A house is just that; a house converted for student living. A dorm is what one thinks of when thinking of a dorm.

By being an upper. I don’t think lowers, or new lowers anyway, get placed into houses.

Wherever you live, it will be awesome! Don’t sweat the small stuff.
