i have a 3.7 with all honors and AP classes and has a 4.0 not one AP or honors class…who looks better

i think u look better…but if u have gotten a C in any class, then she looks better.

however, it depends :-o

you look better… no question… first thing colleges look at is Courseload…

You look better.

So, I have had 2 AP’s sophmore year, 5 Junior year, and 6 Senior year, and I have a 3.7 UC GPA. Does that mean I have a good chance at UC Davis, UCLA, UCI?

Good shot at UCB/LA/D/I.

You weighted GPA is better unless that is a 3.7 Weighted.

You are better.

“Yes” to jason.

“Depends” to goodcolleges: What is your weighted GPA? What is the # of honors/AP’s you’ve taken vs. # available at your high school? These are things colleges take into account when looking at your grade point average.

Definitely you better.

jason15975346–you can only count 8 semester hours of honors/APs/IBs in computing your UC GPA–and senior year is not counted–so make sure you use this in calculating the UC GPA. Still, the UCs will consider all the courses your took, so you have a pretty good chance (match to slight reach–UC Davis average UC GPA is 3.84) at UC Davis if the 3.7 is calculated correctly and you have about a 1950+ SAT score and have two SAT IIs that average about 650+.

You are a “reach” at UCLA, and a “match to slight reach” at UC Irvine–see the first site below for the averages of students admitted.

Here’s two sites to look over:

http://www.ucop.edu/news/factsheets/2006/freshman_admit_profile_2006.pdf

http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/undergrad_adm/paths_to_adm/freshman/scholarship_reqs.html

Good luck.

jason15975346:

UCLA: Reach
UCI/UCD: Match

to “MITMIT” …our school has more honors classes than AP classes so in total ive taken 13 honors classes and 4 AP classes. She has taken none. And my weighted GPA is a 4.2

she is arrogant and cocky…thats why i wanted to see what people thought when i did this thread…we are both african american also…i doubt that changes anything tho

Um, that does change things, a lot actually, well not so much for the UCs, but a good deal for the private schools.

Your chances would go up for private schools becasue you are a URM that takes lots of hard classes, though many would love to take any URM with a 4.0 GPA.

Basically, both of your chances skyrocket at pretty much all private schools and probably so for the UCs even though they aren’t “supposed” to look at ethnicity, but socio-economic factors instead.

my first choice is UNC but im out of state, as is hers and she is oos as well, they probably wont accept too many people from one school so i hope i get in
