My question is short but sweet. We have all heard about “risk” essays or a “winning” essay. Can you submit different essays for different schools using the common app? ie. have a “safe” essay and a “risk” essay, which you submit to different schools

Look in the Common Application forum to see discussion of this. Off the top of my yes, the answer is YES, BUT. I think you .are only allowed to change it twice. Don’t count on my answer, look it up. Basically you can put in RISK essay, submit to a few. Then change and submit to more. But it seems to me if you have a really great essay you should use it for all. And if you have a risk essay that crosses the line of what is appropriate then not to use it at all.
