Different Letters

I am trying to analyze the different types of letters we have received and have so far come to the understanding that we have received three basic deferral-type letters:

1) deferral, with the actual word “deferral” in it
2) delayed
3) letter without deferral or delayed asking for semester grades, at which time a decision will be made to reject, accept, or defer

Please post which college you are applying to (e.g. LSA, Nursing, etc.) and the type of letter you received. If you got an acceptance, don’t post anything, as that is unimportant to this assessment.

I applied to LSA and received letter 3

LSA, letter 1

so we both applied to LSA but got different letters. Anyone know the difference between these letters?

From my understanding, if you receive letter 3, a decision of any sort i.e. defer, reject, accept, has not been made and will be made once you send your semester grades.

Letter 1, is actually a decision, whereas if you receive letter 3, you could get deferred later on.
