Different Scoring on SAT II Spanish Exam

I have an official SAT subject test book from 2006 and the scoring rubric seems a lot harsher and the practice exam harder than the exams I’ve taken in the current Kaplan/PR books. As well, it says that the average for the spanish exam back then was a 556 and now according to this, http://media.collegeboard.com/digitalServices/pdf/research/SAT-Subject-Tests-Percentile-Ranks-2013.pdf</a>, the average is around a 690 or so.

I’m curious if the exam simply got easier and the curve got better or students are simply better at taking the exam.

As well, does anyone know which study books are more representative of the exam / where I can find more “real” past exams used by the college board.
