Differentiating Two Essays

I am currently and undergraduate freshman hoping to transfer to Stanford. I know its unlikely but that is besides the point. In any case the common application essay asks why I want to transfer and one of Stanford’s supplemental essays asks “What matters to you and why?”. My reason for transferring is essentially that what matters to me has been taken away. How can I differentiate these two essays?

The main idea of my supplemental essay is that self expression matters to me

I want to transfer because I currently can’t express myself and be myself (I go to USNA btw)

there’s probably more than transferring that matters to you try to think outside of the academic bubble even what matters to you doesn’t always have to be a serious, life-altering thing…maybe show a different side of you than the value you place on self-expression
