Difficult Courses First Semester vs Second Semester

My question is will having the more difficult courses in my second semester decrease my chances of acceptance compared to if I had my more difficult courses in my first semester? I had a very rigorous course load in gr 11, but in my first semester of Gr 12, because of scheduling conflicts, I have Physics Biology and Phys ed. (I only have three because I am from Canada). I have a more rigorous course load next semester and also have taken Gr. 12 classes in Gr. 11. I want to study business and I am planning on applying to the following schools (Not ED):

  • McDonough School of Business (Georgetown)
  • Stern School of Business (NYU)
  • Ross School of Business (U of M)
  • Hass School of Business (UC Berkeley)

Anyone?

Bump

anyone please

Most likely no because colleges ask you to report your entire senior year course load.

It won’t affect admission, since they’ll see your whole class schedule but if your classes are so much harder that you end up with D’s and F’s, you’ll be rescinded.

anyone else?

What does being from Canada have to do with only taking two academic courses first semester?

That is interesting that you’re only taking 3 classes first semester, 1 being an elective.

You should ask your counselor to put that in his or her letter of recommendation, citing schedule conflicts or the fact that you finished all the courses as the reason why your first semester’s schedule is not very rigorous.
