Most of my dream schools are reach schools - My SATs are just under 2100 and I have a few B’s on my transcripts, and I’m applying to a couple of Ivy/very prestigious schools. If I made it in, I’d love to attend, but on the other hand, I don’t want to struggle with every class. For those who’ve made it into their ultra-reaches (or for those who know people who have), is it usually a big problem?

It can be hard to find a balance. Obviously it would be easy to stay on top of everything without a social life, but if you enjoy doing things with friends and participating in campus activities, it can be tough. Basically you need to avoid procrastination and make sure you have at least some time every day to keep up with homework, reading and studying. Of course it’s not that bad, after all I do have enough time to spend half an hour surfing CC every once in a while.
