I’m a senior who’s about to start my year with the following schedule:

AP English Literature and Composition
AP Calculus BC
AP Physics I
AP Physics II
AP United States Government and Politics
AP Computer Science A
AP Economics

I’m a little worried about this schedule because this is going to be a busy year. Including my 7 AP courses, I also have 4 extracurricular activities, 2 of which I have leadership positions in, and college supplemental essays to complete.

AP English Literature and Composition should, hopefully, be as difficult as AP English Language and Composition. In my school, I have been assigned to a fair teacher who should not make the class too easy or too hard. In balanced classes like these, I usually manage to score a 90 or above (A).

AP Calculus BC shouldn’t be a problem for me. I’ve always been strong in math and science and have gotten averages of 98+ on all of my high school math classes. Also, I’ve heard that the class is structured mainly on derivatives, which I have a good grasp of.

AP Physics I and AP Physics II are supposed to be a first-year high school physics class. AP Physics I is supposed to be algebra-based, whereas AP Physics II is supposed to be pre-calculus-based. I have excelled in all of my math classes as well as AP Biology (10th grade) and AP Chemistry (11th grade). Not only that, both my parents majored in physical chemistry and I will be able to get their assistance with whatever I don’t understand.

AP United States Government and Politics, I’ve heard, is pretty easy. Considering that our government hasn’t lasted for too long, it should be less difficult than AP United States History, which includes memorizing a lot of important dates, events, and people.

AP Computer Science A is a class that I’m willing to take because of my interest in possibly majoring in computer science in college. I only have a very basic understanding of HTML, but the AP Comp. Sci. teacher provided me with the whole course lessons and notes, which I’ve looked over the summer. This is definitely going to be my toughest class this year, but I’m willing to put in effort to do well.

AP Economics is the class I’m on the fence about. I’ve heard plenty of people say that it’s one of the easiest AP classes after AP Environmental Science and AP Human Geography. I wanted to sign up for AP E.S. but it was full. However, I did take a Economics/Personal Finance class last year and did really well (99 average?). Is this class actually that hard or am I overthinking it?

Please leave your opinions and suggestions below. I would really appreciate if you guys would rank the 7 AP classes I’m taking this year from easiest to most difficult, as well as sharing your personal experience in these classes. I’m aiming for valedictorian and I need all 7 AP courses to maintain my GPA.

For reference, below are the classes I’ve taken so far. Feel free to draw comparisons of difficulty between AP courses I already took and those I am currently taking.

10th:
AP World History (A, 3)
AP Biology (A, 5)

11th:
AP English Language and Composition (A, 4)
AP Statistics (A, 5)
AP Chemistry (A, 4)
AP United States History (A, 4)
