Difficulty of Math1A/1B

How hard are Math 1A/1B for students who got a 5 on the Calculus BC test?

Math 1A would probably be below you but 1B will contain some things you didn’t cover such as basic DiffEQ(as in non-homogeneous second order linear differential equations which I mention just because it’s fun to say). This does, however, depend on the rigor of your AP course as Berkeley math is a whole different league. I do however know a person who went straight into Math 53 from BC and got an A+.

yea just skip 1b if your doing engineering or related sciences. math 53 isnt too bad

I would look at it like this.

Lots of students who get a 5 on the Calculus BC test go straight to Math 53 and do fine.

A 5 on Calculus BC is NOT equivalent to an A in math 1A/1B. Math 1A/1B go more in-depth and cover a lot more theory; the exams expect you to have understood at least some of that theory. You can do a google search and pull up old exams for 1A/1B, see what they are like. Those exams ARE curved, but still, they are hard.
